More Important: Remmers vs Miller or Oher vs Ware

I think it's about time to turn our attention to Denver.

Whilst I was talking to a buddy of mine who happens to be a salty Pittsburgh Steelers fan, we were having a little bit of a disagreement. He was saying that Von Miller is a top five defensive player in the NFL and that his matchup with Remmers would be the key matchup of the game. Of course he didn't know Remmers name but that is neither here nor there.

I argued that the Oher vs Ware matchup is entirely more important and these are my reasons for believing so.

  1. You cannot double both edge rushers without seriously hurting the passing game.
  2. Remmers has had help before while taking on a superior edge rusher (Watt).
  3.  Oher has actually been an upper echelon LT when it comes to pass protection and has been improving during the playoffs.

What say you? What are ideas for doing so?

The key is being able to run the ball.  If we can (and I think we can), then it slows their rush significantly.  If we can't, then you get what the Pats saw yesterday....they pin their ears back and attack like rabid dogs.

I trust oher a little more than remmers but they both have been great against 2 great defenses in seattle and arizona.

Our oline has been spectacular so far in the playoffs.  I think being at home and having no noise on offense really helps the line.

There will be help, like there has been much of the year, especially on Remmers' side. Not too worried about it. The Pats were able to move the ball against them relatively well for parts of the game and that was with their sh*t o-line. Our line is fuging dominant. Cam is better than Brady right now, and Olsen is just as oncoverable as Gronk and we have Ginn to stretch the field. Biggest thing though... We have a run game! The Patriots do not. Broncos D, in my opinion, isn't really much better than the Seahawks'.

I'm more concerned about Miller/Remmers. Miller is the best defensive player on that team and he is really going to challenge Remmers with his speed and strength. Hopefully Miller is relegated to a confused player who doesn't know who has the ball on the read option.

I say I'm definitely concerned after the beat down the Broncos have Tom Brady. I honestly think miller is the bigger concern. His speed is unreal and we need to have a plan in place

NE had ZERO run game.....everyone knew it.  The Denver pass rush did not need to be concerned....they pinned their ears back and went after Brady.  They cannot do that against us.

Bafflingly Belicheck didn't adjust and left their RT on an island against Miller all night. We need to assign Dickson to help Remmers against him. They'll go all out blitz all night and if we can slow it down we'll dominate.

Yeah, I noticed that too. Seemed like maybe a bit of arrogance from Bill.
