What's up with practicing in ballrooms?

Just got done watching Cam talk about how they missed a practice before the Atlanta game, and I remember the team practicing in a hotel conference center last last season.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but why do the Players practice in hotel ballrooms (instead of indoor sports facilities) when the weather is bad? It seems like there are enough indoor spots in town that the team could rent out to practice in. What's the deal? Is it a league rules thing that they can't use a college/high school/recreational facility?

Just curious,

CC

Our practice had to be postponed until after the Johnson's wedding reception ceremony at the Ramada Inn

I agree that the cold-weather teams need full-time practice facilities. I just figured that the team would be more likely to bus the guys for an hour down to Columbia to hijack South Carolina's facility than use a ballroom.
