Are you a real Carolina fan, or a 2016 Carolina fan?

I was asked the same question at work a few weeks ago when someone noticed a hat I have displayed along with several game programs. I pointed out that the hat was the old logo and it was the paint-brush style that was popular in the mid 90s. Also, one of the programs had Julius Peppers on the cover.

I remember when they announced Charlotte/Carolina as one of the finalists for a team, I thought there was no way we would get one because we were small market. I remember getting sunburned all to hell for the inaugural game in Erricson stadium vs Atlanta. Sam Mills knocking Dieon Sanders the fug out in our 2nd season playoff game vs the cowgirls. Hell, I even remember when my hatred of the Saints was born with the Chad Cota contract poison pill. Yelling Spooooooooooon every time he made an awesome play. It's fair to say, I've been a fan since the beginning.

Hello everyone. I couldn't find the option to create a new topic, so I thought I'd just post here. I just wanted to say congratulations on your team beating my Seahawks. Anyone saying it was the field, or that The Seahawks had the wrong cleats, or that The Seahawks beat themselves with a horrible first-half offensive game plan should be ignored. That's loser talk. Carolina earned that 31-0 lead and then played conservative on defense the rest of the game to run out the clock. This did allow Seattle to slowly chip away at the score. But it played right into Carolina's strategy. Hell, Seattle needed to recover an onside kick just to have a chance to tie it. That tells me Carolina did the right thing. One or 2 more first downs from Carolina in the 2nd half and an onside kick recover wouldn't have made the difference.

Enjoy the rest of your team's post-season however long it might last.

2011 fan here.. Always followed the team from time to time but didn't become a passionate fan until 2011.. Getting the first overall pick really piqued my interest and I started following the draft heavily and became a avid fan ever since.

I was one of the very few that was "pounding my fist" to draft Cam and even went as far to say I would draft him over Luck if Luck had declared. I got ridiculed and bashed big time for it at the time.

I don't even watch or keep up with college football at all so it wasn't even about that. Just watching Cam being interviewed, watching the private workout vid he made with George Whitfield, his pro day.. I just had a strong feeling about him and I'm glad to be proven right.

People thought I was bat poo crazy wanting to draft Cam so bad but I just knew in my heart of hearts he would be beast

I was at the first home game against the St Louis Rams at Memorial Stadium which we lost.  If I remember correctly that was the last game Frank Reich started at QB.  We lost but I still have a small lapel pin that was given out to all attendees.  I bought a 3 game mini pack that year that included home games against the Rams, Falcons and 49ers.  I was a high school senior and drove to these three games by myself from Asheboro.  I also remember in 1993 when local nightime tv was interrupted when Jerry Richardson had his introductory press conference after it was annouced we were getting a team.
