Worries about Arizona

spying cam worked a lot better when all he could do was run.  now he's a much better passer than he was in 2013 and we also have a much more complex run game.  makes it more difficult to assign a defender just as a spy.

I agree.  He has developed too much as a passer.  Either he runs as part of a called run or he is going to find someone to throw.

Teams aren't wasting a defender as a spy like in years before.  It just handicaps your D.  Plus I doubt Cam film would suggest a D needs one.

This.  Cam is a drop back passer who runs the ball on occasion.  Assigning a player to spy him full time would be a great benefit to us, not so good for Arizona.

Your concerns are off my friend.  We match up to AZ very well and that's with being thin at positions.  I would be more concerned if they were on there track at home but AZ is a softer less calculated team than Sea. So much so they chose to dodge the Hawks in the playoffs. Could we lose?  Sure AZ is a good team no doubt but they have yet to face a team like us.

I mentioned this before.

The Arizona interior O line was handled by the 49ers and the Rams as well. They will have to double both Star and KK. If they do not, it is instant pressure on Palmer and he has to move. That does not work well for Palmer. So, 6 blockers.

LB will take David Johnson in the flats.

Kuechly will be all over Fitzgerald coming across the middle just like last season. You defend Fitzgerald like a receiving TE. If you put a CB on him, you are asking to lose.

Norman locks down whoever is on his side.

That leaves 1 receiver for McClain to cover with help from both safeties if necessary.

If they go 4 receivers with an empty backfield, you have 2 LBs to cover Fitzgerald, Norman takes a man, McClain gets help from a safety over the top, and Finnegan gets help from a safety over the top. Best the Cardinals could do it go 5 wide and force Kuechly to cover Fitzgerald by himself. That would mean they are willing to get Palmer hit with Star or KK since they cannot double both.

No one has been stupid enough to go 5 wide on us.

Palmer makes a lot of mistakes.  He throws INTs every game, it's just what he does.  This Panthers team makes you pay for mistakes.  Panthers lead the league in takeaways this year.  Palmer is going to get rattled and turn the ball over.  I'm calling it now, Panthers win this one convincingly.

This matchup does worry me. I think we are a great team but sometimes you come across a team you don't match up well with and I think that is the case with Arizona in multiple areas. I think we still can win but the least confident about this game then any game we've played all year.

I was a lot more nervous about the game against Seattle. I wanted so badly for the panthers to get over that divisional round hump and I thought seattle was going to give us absolute hell from the first minute but then look what happened..

Watching Minnesota play the Cards earlier in the season and watching Green Bay against them last weekend, made me realize they are good yes , but they are most certainly beatable , much worse teams than panthers have had chances to beat them.

Since our replacement DBs are far from world beaters, we know our offense will score points, key to the game is if we can get consistently in Palmers face early , get sacks, get him on the ground, force him to make errant throws under pressure. Their very good recievers can't do much if Carson can't get the ball to them.

Ball control offense. Keep pounding the run game and keep TOP. Limiting their potent air attack is critical, and you can do that on offense with Stew. So, keep the run game consistent and get into 3d and short situations. On D, our X-factor is CJ. He needs to be a bull in this game. He's the only one that no one is really talking about and he's the highest paid player on the freaking team.

Someone mentioned it earlier, but Fitz and Carson are no Spring chickens.  They will be going all out, as they know that the end is awfully close.

Hell, for that matter Arians is an awfully old HC as well.  They will have that team prepared and ready to play.

We are the better team, and we are at home, but this is going to be a test.

Was just about to say... if they're going to use a spy for Cam, they're in for a long night.  He'll just pick them apart for being that man short.  He can kill from the pocket, so all 11 guys gotta be on point to stop what he can do.
