Thought I on the broadcast Sunday that the Nfl will pay for replacement turf for the Championship game?  Anyone else remember that?

The turf was just replaced during our playoff bye. Doubt it would be done again.

I don't know that the NFL pays to replace it. I thought it was that the team's grounds crew does the maintenance on all games until the Championship game, at which point the NFL send their own grounds crew to check on it to make sure it's up to par. So I'm sure the NFL has to have someone at BOA by now looking into.

escpecially with the way the announcers and the other team made it an issue.

Another interesting fact is the NFL brings in their very own security and personnel during any championship games. Them along with the regular yearly personnel the Panthers also have staffed.

Ya know what, this is what homefield advantage is all about.  If you got a fast team, keep a fast field turf, if you have a team dedicated to the run and slobberknocker football, keep a slightly spongy field and slow them down.  Opponents and "football purists" can bitch all they want, but this is our field and this is how we play football and we earned this by winning 16 games (thusfar), if you don't like it, stop us during the season.

Not whining by any means, but I have to say, the field has looked much worse this year than in years past when we have won awards for having one of the better fields in the NFL. I wonder if the weather or any other factors have played a hand. Methinks the grounds crew will experience a little bit of turnover this offseason.
