The Falcons game

the greatest

Yeah, gotta love the emotion after winning that game... you might see that face Sunday!

It looks like he is yawning.

And I think the OP gives a very poor evaluation of the Atlanta team as a whole. The defense looks much better than given credit for, especially the front 7.

Trust me if Matt Moore is having to start its probally cause Delhomme has already put you guys in a hole.

After that big contract he got for some reason, its going to take more than one beating for him to be benched.

He was already benched on Sunday, Jerry Richardson watched thousands of Panthers fans leave the game on Sunday and it won't take long untill he puts Jake on the bench himself.

To start off every body in the manic depression mode needs to calm down. It was one game. Now if it continues for the next 3-4 games then we know we have a problem. In the mean time we (the team ,players, and fans) need to keep our heads up and move on to avoid that from happening.

Our next game against the falcons will be a tough one but a very winnable one. We all know about matt ryan michael turner and roddy white. they will score and get there yards but i firmly believe that we can hold them under 20 points.

Their defense which all of a sudden everyone thinks is a top 5 defense is also stoppable. we just need to contain john abraham because we all know how jake does under pressure.

Our team in general has to much talent to many leaders and egos to let what happened the last two games repeat itself. we will come out fired up and looking for redemption.

I know this was a very elementary analysis but i wanted to write something to cheer everyone up.

I think people are panicking way too early. In 2001 the Panthers went on the road and beat Minnesota to start the season 1-0. We went on to have lose the next 15 games. On the AFC front the New England Patriots lost their 1st game (to Cincinnati who, by the way went on to defeat the Playoff bound Ravens in week 2 and then proceeded to a 6-10 record but I digress). Point is, New England lost 3 of 4 to start the season and then wound up winning the Super Bowl.

So what does this team have in common with the 2001 Patriots? Probably not much. But what we and every other team have is that we all have 15 games left. Probability says if you lose the 1st game you are unlikely to reach the playoffs. Probability also says that bumble bees can't fly, a 90 mile an hour curve ball can not be hit and Bret Favre can't possible retire and unretire 20 times in 3 years. Despite that, it does happen.

Anything can happen

Crack a beer, sit back, relax and attempt to enjoy. It is a long season.

I am hoping we play a little better this week. On offense it is obviously going to come down to our o-line and Jake having a better day, not to mention davidson. I believe the offense line is embarrassed about the philly game and will have a better showing. They are better than they played this past week. Atlanta's defense (especially Abraham) have always put together a good pass rush, so we need to do a better job picking up the blitz and giving Jake a little time...god knows he needs it. Maybe we will use a little more max protection instead of 3 wide. We also have to stay committed to the run game. Once we get away from pounding the ball it seems to unravel.

On defense we need to keep improving. I thought the first team D looked much improved over the preseason. I'm sure that has a lot to do with Beason and Davis coming back. I haven't heard anything about Chris Harris, but hopefully he will make a return and be productive. He will help our run defense and we will need it. We gave up around 185 yards rushing last week, so we will need an improvement there. If we can hold Turner/Norwood to under 120 I will be happy. It seems like the panthers always have a hard time picking up TEs in offenses that like to use them, so we will need to make sure there is always someone on Tony. If we can limit Tony to around 3-5 catches, and hold the rush game to under 120, I think we will have a chance to win the game. The defense wasn't really on the field that much against the Eagles, and a couple of defensive drives started in the redzone. It is easy to say that they were put in a bad position due to turnovers, but I think the Eagles scored a TD on 3/4 redzone possessions. That is not gonna win alot of games, so I would like to see a couple rezone stops this week too.

I'm not gonna throw out a prediction yet, but I am really just looking for improvement in a few key areas.

Don't want to give you Kitties too much hope San Diego managed to rally from a pretty awful start and still won thier division (though it took one of the most epic chokes by the Broncos of all time). Or the 7-9 Superbowl Champion Steelers of a few years back.

That said . . . Heck its only week 1 who the hell knows whats goona happen.

c'mon guys...been away 4 a while and comeback, and it seems that MATT MOORE is the new hero??PLLLLLLLEASE!!!!

I've wanted him, or at least another FA addition, to get a chance since about mid way through the 2nd quarter of the Cardinal's playoff game. I don't think he's the next Tom Brady but I do think he is a upgrade over Jake and Feely. He is exactly the type of QB we need.

Can get the ball deep and toss it short. Is more mobile the Jake and I think has a stronger arm. I really believe there are too reasons that Jake still has a job in week 2. A very ill advised contract and a he was the the team leader. I think he is fastly losing the teams loyalty. I don't see him starting much longer.

You'd have to have Delhomme on your team to understand. We've all been disappointed by him far too many times. I'm giving him one more chance this weekend, but if he fugs it up, I'm done with him.

Here's the question - what will be deemed acceptable by Delhomme this weekend? A Panther win and a few TD's with no INT's? A Panther win, but Jake plays average (1TD, 1INT for example)? Or maybe a bad game but Panthers still manage a win - does that win cure all ills? Or what if Jake has a very good game, but we lose anyway?

I'm just curious what folks determine to be an acceptable performance that will allow the following week to pass without the same QB concerns....or maybe it doesn't matter how he does, maybe you're too far gone already.....

Im not so sure where is this contract talk coming from. Like okay, they messed up by giving him extension. Im 100 percent positive no matter how loyal Fox is, if Jake continue... its a wrap. Cause thats makes him look bad for continuing to go with him when he hurting us, while the contract extension goes a lot on Hurney

I guarantee if Jake throws 2 early INT, its a wrap. Mark my words!!!

AND ITS AGAINST OUR RIVALS TOO
