I'd love a good R-rated Spawn movie.  Actually been calling for that poo for years.  After seeing how good they pulled off Deadpool and the huge box office success it gave me hope they'd finally give it the green light.

Spawn definitely can't be properly portrayed with anything less than a hard R rating.

Saw where Todd McFarlane announced he had a finished script right after Deadpool's huge opening weekend... but honestly the writing needs to be completely out of his hands.  He shouldn't be anything more than an advisor and help with the art direction of the film.

Can't say that I'm familiar with McFarland's abilities as a writer.  If it's anything like Lucas I wholeheartedly agree
