Been hearin a bunch of great poo about this movie... been pumped for it for a while

Bout to go see it tomorrow.  I know it was pretty low budget for a super hero movie... only like a $50 million budget or so.  Hopefully everyone gets out and supports it in theatres to let the studios know these types of true-to-the-source rated R movies can, in fact, be successful.

Treated myself last night and saw it in a packed theater.  I think they nailed this one.  This flick is to the superhero genre what Feast and Scream were to the horror genre of films.  I think I missed half the jokes because I was laughing so hard at much of it.  Not everyone is going to get it, but those that do will love it.

I loved it, and everyone laughed throughout.   It definitely won't be for everyone and critics will probably hate it but as long as people show up and buy tickets, that's all that matters.   You could tell the budget was slashed, it needed a bit more action but the next one should take it up a notch.

I actually thought they could have just skipped his origin though and went to a storyline.  Spend 5 minutes explaining it.  He's not the type of character where you get emotionally invested in, that's the beauty of it.     I still loved it.

Yeah I also feel like they could have just had dead pool been like I'm not a normal hero, I don't need and origin story, I'm just here to fug poo up and it would have felt normal and believable

Just got back from it.  Lol holy poo it was fuging awesome.

Easily top 3 comic book movie of all time for me.  Damn they fuging killed it.

Go watch this movie.  Seriously.

Don't wait for a quality copy online and bootleg it.  This movie deserves money to send a message to the big wig corporate types... this poo has been stuck in development hell forever because Fox thought it would completely bomb for the longest time.

Funny what happens when you get out the way and let people actually make the movie they want to make and not intervene and do stupid poo like turning Deadpool into a Baraka rip off while sealing his fuging mouth shut.

Okay, I hate to say this... but Fox has actually made me WANT to see this. God freaking dammit! They've done it again. Despite their shitty past films, I will be there opening night. Fool me once... fool me twice... fool me thrice...

Rest easy my dude, it's awesome.  You can tell Fox just completely got out the way and let them make the exact movie they wanted to without intervening.

It's going to be great, but will probably not do that well at the box office, but hopefully rentals and sales will help.

There was definitely a thread, I remember posting the leaked footage from years ago lol.

False. It's already tracking at $55+ million opening weekend. The weird part? It's tracking better with women than men 18-49.*

*if I'm wrong someone will be in to correct me soon

I read an article earlier today saying that it could potentially hit $100+ million opening weekend... completely smashing expectations.  Not bad for a film on a $50 million budget that the higher ups thought would be a bust.

Damn, this movie has already made over $133+ million... on a $50 million budget... and that's just domestic revenue and Sunday showings haven't even started yet.

Lol Fox.  You're raking in the profits right now but it's gotta be hella bittersweet.  Put this thing on ice for years and years until that test footage got leaked a few years back, then felt obligated to finally greenlight the movie due to enormous demand from the internet - on a very limited budget - and completely ruined the character the first go around in the Wolverine movie... so much so that you had to completely destroy that entire timeline because you fuged poo up so bad.

Ryan Reynolds, the writers and director have to be laughing their asses off right about now.  Reynolds especially.  Dude has been begging for them to let this movie happen for like 10 years now.

    • so last night my daughter who is playing softball had a parents vs daughter softball scrimmage. i grew up playing baseball and played softball for most of my college and adult life up until about a decade ago. i didn't really have any reason to stop, but i also wasn't in any situations to play. i figured, "why not?" well, now i know "why not?". about 8 years ago i slipped at work and banged my head on the concrete floor. had a concussion that was pretty bad for a while, but that was a long time ago. the only lingering thing going on is that i have double vision, but i'm used to is. i've adjusted....or at least i thought i had. i played catcher (one of the positions i used to play a lot) and i got up to bat. both ended up being terrifying. apparently when you've got double vision, it also affects your depth perception. i couldn't see the ball coming. well i saw it, but i didn't know where it was. i got hit once and i thought, "ok. i'm done." i'm talking to my wife about it and she says, "well, you're probably never going to play softball again." that's a sad realization for some reason. well it was in the moment. then my thought was, "i really have to pee" and i was over it.  point of all that is, getting old is...... interesting.  thanks for letting me share.
    • I'm guessing the league provided the contact information of all the prospects coming out this year. Once the teams have that list its probably available to all the top brass on the team. Each team has their own idea of who should have access to that information. I'm guessing the league will now set rules on who can have access to that information going forward.
    • Mediocre is more of a best case scenario IMO. Going from one of, if not the worst defense in NFL history to middle of the pack? Maybe im not as high as others on our off-season additions, but i dont see that as being realistic. Would love to see it though.
