Palmer a a deep 5-7 step drop back passer.  He is not a threat to run.  The key is that we must pressure him and get after him.  If we don't, both he and their WR's are too good.

Spot on.  Palmer is not Wilson.  He is not a threat to run.  Part of our defensive game plan was to contain Wilson and though he make a few plays with his mobility we did enough to win.  I have complete faith in Rivera,  McDermott and Wilks to get a good game plan to defend the Arizona passing attack.

Green Bay's defense isn't as good as our but they did a good job against Arizona.

Norman follows Floyd, Finnegan covers Fitzgerald in the slot and McClain is on John Brown.

Floyd is the perfect matchup for Norman and he is the type of WR that Josh shuts down. Finnegan on Fitzgerald is obviously a mismatch and it's possible Shaq sees some time on him if Fitz's size is too much for Finnegan. McClain on Brown is probably the most key matchup of the game for the Panthers defense. Floyd will be limited and Fitz is going to get his because he's Fitz. Brown having a big day against McClain is the most likely way I see us losing this one. I like our chances in most every other scenario.

This is the best gameplan for AZ.

1) Clock Management - Limit AZ possessions. 3rd downs we must convert.  Chew clock time of possession at the end of game should be 36 minutes to 42 minutes in favor of us. We limit them to 5 to 6 possessions we win this game. I believe our defense can hold them out the end zone atleast 4 out of 6 times.

2) Run the ball. Stew and Payne should have success running. Lacy and Starks ran well against their d-line. We shouldnt have a problem here. This will help with time management. They stack the box to stop the run Olsen will be open all day.

3) Dont allow the big play. Most people dont like this but let the, dink and dunk and let Luke and TD play the gaps underneath. this keeps them thinking they are successful but they only kill themselves by taking very long to drive down the field only to get a FG.

4) Pass Rush. This only benefits us because the rush gets there chance of turnover or turnover points.

Yes. I saw confusion on Palmers face. He could baely handle what GB threw at him.

On top of that, our defense is much better than Green Bay's and will confuse and disrupt him even more, plus it will be at our house in a hostile environment.

Not only that, but we are the only team (maybe New England) than can match Arizona's offense if it becomes a shootout.

We will be too much to handle for Arizona, who barely got by Green Bay at their own house.

We just beat Seattle, who just pummeled Arizona 2 weeks ago.

Agreed (though we can't necessarily extrapolate one win because of another; i.e. Seattle and Arizona to Carolina)!!!

DL is key, and giving them a second more would do wonders. Would like to see us disguise our coverages a little better and mix them up a bit even from play-to-play (just as long as we can get the communication down). Make Palmer have to read the disguise as the ball is snapped so he might not be as confident in his first read. Also, maybe some press and bail zone just to bump the timing and again make Palmer hold the ball a bit longer. He's not a RW type player who's going to be able to leave the pocket, he's going to look to move around and especially up in the pocket where we have 2 DTs who've played extremely well and been able to crush the pocket and keep QBs from stepping up.

How we cover John Brown is key.  Of course getting to Palmer is huge and our DTs against their interior is a primo matchup; but stopping those quick passes/forcing short gains with #12 is in my opinion as important (if not more) than keeping Fitz in check.

We have speed but John Brown's speed and catch % is top-3 in the league at the position.
