Jackson said after watching the play that he believes it wasn't a designed corner rush. Per TJ, Norman was in a zone and the whole play basically just went away from him. So Norman, seeing Wilson hanging out there, decided on his own to go after him.

Don't know if that can be confirmed, but rewatching the play, it kinda makes sense.

Eugene said the same thing.

Per the Charlotte Observer:

" “Man … you know at some point in time you’ve just got to be relentless,” Norman said. “You’ve got to say bump it. Gotta go rogue. Just go rogue one time for the heck of it. I was so happy it worked out for me.”

I remember thinking before the game that they don't really use Norman much on blitzes (which I can understand). Wondered if it was something they might try in the postseason.

The Answer: Not intentionally

They blitzed Norman when Coleman got burnt for TD to Lockette.

I am still confused as to why Norman would blitz and Coleman would cover deep. History has shown everyone that Coleman is a liability when trailing in coverage. It should have been Coleman blitzing and Norman in coverage. Wilson was attacking Coleman all game. At least with Norman covering he may have hesitated and Norman has the ability to break that pass up.

That play is gone from the playbook until the Panthers get a safety that can cover like a CB.
