John Fox, Why can't you be as candid as Jack Del Rio?

Well last time I checked, this game was about the fans. Without fans, you don't have stadiums, TV contracts, anything. When a team performs poorly, who do the fans turn to for some kind of explanation? If the coach gets in front of the media and says "It's my fault and I can assure you we know what the problem is and we're working on it", he at least provides some semblance of giving a crap about the fans' ire. But when he plays coy and acts like he has no clue why his team just got trounced when it was expected to compete with teams like the Eagles this year, it displays an arrogant "screw the fans" attitude that is the main reason he's in hot water here despite never having a record worse than 7-9.

this is another problem with the Panthers.

this established Panthers/Carolina media icons and their insider haughtiness.

I've read other beat writers' blogs, such as Ralph Vacchiano (who is worlds better than Gantt) and he's friendlier. He doesn't make any condescending references to the fans and his blogs are more thorough.

I don't know where Fox got the idea that since he took the team to the superbowl a while back means he's unquestionable.

This is Gospel people. One of the biggest,if not the biggest issues afflicting this org.

But, playing a bit of "devil's advocate here, it is Fox's right to divulge what he wants to. After all, he will face the backlash from the perceptions of the fans and media based on his responses.

This is exactly what pisses me off the most about Fox. I don't want him to publicly throw individuals under the bus, but at least acknowledge that your team did poorly and stop talking about "not having watched the film" as an excuse for not commenting about the poor play. We don't need a Jim Mora/Denny Green meltdown, but some type of admission that they were awful would be nice for us to hear.

Does tearing down his players in front of the press make Del Rio a better coach? No, it doesn't. The only purpose tearing them down in public would serve would be to make some fans feel better. Wouldn't help the team a bit.

I don't think you understand what the purpose of this post is. I'm not saying tear into his players and ridicule them but atleast speak the truth. We all see it and when he's asked a question he side steps it with an answer that doesn't give an answer. That is frustrating. Its frustrating to the PSL, Season ticket holders who help pay his salary as well as the players salaries. He should be obligated to let us know something

The PSL's are cheap, the season tickets aren't cheap. I want to know WTF is going the fug on!!:banghead:

Besides,

we get no sound bites from Fox, no emotion.

Where would be without, PLAYOFFS, Don't ask me about PLAYOFFs. Playoffs.

or

The Bears are who we thought they were...if you want to crown their ass, then crown them.

My pet peeve with Fox, 'the other team practices too'... I so, want to just knock his head off and say, 'yeah, obviously with better results than you'.

I watched the Bills Monday Night...and I saw a team that played its heart out...they lost...but, tell me, if you are in Buffalo, would you not be proud, even with a loss, at the effort and have a sense of hope.

Fox wins ugly; but, god when he loses, it is the worst most painful, non-competitive loss in the world.

He can't play with the big boys.

Its painfully obvious that his best record comes after a bad year when his competition is less.

So, if he can't big boys, at least give us some sound bites.

Who cares what he says in the press conference? John Fox is a good coach and his only fault over the years is that he has been way to loyal to certain players.

Steelers fans used to say the exact same thing about Bill Cowher before he won the Superbowl. I have full confidence that Fox could lead us to a Superbowl with a different QB at the helm. I just have no idea if he is going to get that chance...

Along with his stubbornness, yes I agree

Anybody can diss Belichick all you want, but Bill wants to win, and makes the correct moves to win for the present and future

Fox just got that nice guy type of mentality and it can hurt at times
