What if it was the Panthers relocating....

Even being 3000 miles away you can see how the Panthers have become (at least North) Carolina's team but you can absolutely see a difference in the pre-Cam and post-Cam following off the team. If we had moved before this current version of the team I think we would have struggled to hold any kind of fanbase outside of the area they ended up in.

Now you can see that Charlotte and the Carolinas have grown with the team and there's much more of a national/international following that's growing because of the success and attitude of the team.

Many of us have a damn good idea of how it feels from when the Hornets left. Any native of Charlotte can vouch for how brutal that was. I'd get into it more but need to leave for work. That being said, the Panthers are never leaving Charlotte, so don't even entertain the hypothetical thought as it will cause unnecessary stress.

I just don't see the Panthers ever considering moving anytime soon. Charlotte and NC in general are growing considerably over the last decade.

SC has grown significantly too, in sheer population, economic prowess, and fan support. And the team's continued success over these few years will only cement the support in both states. Think about it, what is something we had in our 21 years that the Rams didnt, aside from a great owner? We've had more success. More playoff appearances. Our needle is trending upward faster than the Rams needle is. Sure, the Rams had a devout fanbase too. But even for devout fanbases, it's hard to support a team through a decade of mediocrity, especially when the last half of that decade is comsumed with whispers that the team might leave.

We've had enough playoff appearances in our 21 years that we were able to keep the fanbase's attention. Even in both of our rock bottom years, '01 and '10, there was enough young talent to keep the fans engaged and hopeful, plus we've never seriously had the distraction of the team considering leaving.

Think about it guys, we are in the process of building a tradition here in Carolina. These next couple years will separate us from teams like the Rams, and put us in the category of long-time traditions like the Packers, Bears, and Steelers.

This narrative really needs to die. Fan support for the Panthers may be fairweather along the Savannah River, but everywhere else in SC, the Panthers are THE team. I've visited many parts of South Carolina, and all the main population centers are blue-blooded Panther fans. You always have your sprinkling of dissidents, but I used to live in Central Pennsylvania too, and the sprinkling of fans of other teams was about the same. There's a reason Nikki Haley declare a state "Panther Day" in August. It's our team too. Hell, when I go to games, alot of the people I meet and talk to come from south of the border.

I'm not mad. Lol. I just think the narrative that the Panthers main fan base is NC is misled at this point. Wouldn't surprise me if training camp never leaves Wofford, I might add.

Nfl has treated St. Louis like crap but also Baltimore with the colts.  Wrong on so many levels

I chose the Panthers as I moved to NC in 1991.  If they moved outside of the Carolinas, that would be the end of my love affair with the NFL

i was a la rams fan growing up and remember well Rosenbloom swapping Teams with Irsay and once rosenbloom's wife trade Bettisand Greene to the steelers that was the end of team loyalty from me until the Panthers

It  is a business to many of the NFL owners and nothing more

Our only hope is a long life for jerry and that whoever takes over loves the Carolinas more than dollars

I remember the speculation in the teams down years, that JR would pull up roots and go to LA. Well the Rams are going and leaving the city and fan base blowing in the wind. They have been in St.Louis for twenty one years ( as long as the Panthers have been around).

I can only imagine the hate and sorrow that the die hard fans are feeling upon losing their team. Not a good look for the SOB owner and the NFL. I know it's a business and money talks, but it just doesn't seem right.  If we where in their shoes, it would be awlfull for the state , city, and fanbase. RIP ST.Louis Rams.

You can agrue the other side of this also. LA is finally getting its team back after 21 years of waiting.
