What to do about Bennett and Avril

I don't disagree with you. It will be important to gas their defense and keep the pocket clean for Cam. But I think the more important matchup will be our defense versus Russell Wilson. Either by containing him in the pocket and getting sacks, or by outstanding coverage when he scrambles or throws up his ducks, we need to shut him down. I think if we do that, it won't be a close game, even if the Seahawk defense is swarming all game.

If you limit Wilson from getting that ONE or TWO miracle plays, you will at least have a shot at winning. In Minnesota, if Captain Munnerlyn doesn't over pursue on the bad snap, Seattle probably loses that game.

Did I miss something? Didn't our OL hold up quite well in the first game? The announcers said it multiple times on Sunday during the MIN/SEA game, "Bennett has been given the ability to go after something if he sees it..., and the other DL will fill in." PLEASE, Michael Bennett, please try to be a hero and make a play on Cam. Our offense is based on getting a defender to commit or make a false step. We will commit to protecting Cam on pass plays, Cosell has said many times that that's something we've done and do well. Players have to do their jobs.

Whatever the MN o-line did?

DONT DO THAT.

Minnesota has had protection problems all year....Their OL was always a weakness.  Like another posted said, I think we need plenty of designed QB sneaks.  Not necessary read option, just QB draws.  If Bennett and Avril think there is a good chance Cam will run right up the gut when he drops back or first takes the snap, then it will slow them down just enough.  We also need to keep Cam in the shotgun to buy him another half second or so.  When Bridgewater was under center...it was downright ugly.

Dickson help Remmers. Other can hold his ground.

the real question is will CJ and Allen show up? That's what I'm worried about. If we can get after Russell, it'll be a long day for Hawks.

CJ and Allen are simply too slow for this matchup.  Russell loves to live outside the pocket and ad lib.  They aren't quick enough to stop it.  CJ ain't fast enough to run down Matt Ryan.  I don't know what is up with him.

Issue IMO is thinking that if you stick with them they will magically do stuff they haven't done literally all season.

Maintain our run game through out the game. Underrated part of that W6 was how we never abandoned the run game. We kept pounding the rock and nullified their pass rush in the 4th Quarter.

Also we use a lot of 6 and 7 man protections to minimize their flaws.

If we can stick to that game plan, our Tackles should be ok.

Really all we want from CJ and Allen is to not lose contain. With Russel Wilson you don't come bombing in off the edge. You keep him in the pocket and let KK get in his face. Wilson had his best run when Delaire lost discipline in week 6.

Let me add this in. Cj and Allen did not play in Seattle this year. We sacked Russel Wilson 4 times, 2 coming from KK. For Running QBs that middle pressure gets them every time.

I just think CJ and Allen are slow enough Wilson can find a lane to leak out on their sides....and their pursuit won't be viewed as threatening to him.

We were just a better front without them on the field.  Can't really be argued at this point IMO.  Hopefully the self scouting addressed it

Yep. There is no denying that there is magic around the Seahawks as a team. But that magic begins and ends with Russell Wilson's uncanny ability to extend and save plays that break down. With these 2015 Seahawks, if you stop Russell Wilson, you stop the Seahawks.

I think Allen will be fine. He's not the fastest but he's still a damned good player in the backfield. CJ I'm worried about at this point. If Kony Ealy gets minutes we need him to be steady. He's gotten some silly penalties in the past.

I don't mind them having roles...there roles just have seemed way to big.  Matchup wise, I don't like them vs Wilson in big pass situations.

I mean we know Wes "Seattle game" Horton going to get his reps though.  Hope Ealy gets more than of late

This is a matchup where I think we will use Delaire a lot since he has speed to chase after Wilson.
