I didn't see it, but I believe it... but what difference does it make? So they would have beat us 31-10 instead... the refs don't see everything... it's happened in our favor before too...

It makes a huge difference instead of the score being 17-7 it would have been 10-7 and they have to drive 80 yards to score which they didn't do all day. Come on refs don't see everything? I saw it from my seat in the other inzone that is something they always look for, they called it last night against Buffalo and he just hip checked the guy a little from the side and he fell over just to get the call. I don't remember too many times when it comes out in OUR favor!:frown2:

So it would have been 10-7 and let's say the Eagles went 3 and out and punted and we got the ball on about our 30... what would have happened? We don't know, but I suspect another Jake INT wouldn't have been out of the question...

We did get the ball back after that return when it was 17-7 and what happened?

I wonder if the no-call was a make-up call after they realized that they should have not flagged Philly for the fair catch interference. The block in the back was way to obvious for them not to have seen it because our player got pushed down with two hands. I was watching the Patriots/Bills game yesterday and they called a block in the back for a play where the player of the team returning the punt just kinda ran into the side of the other teams player and knocked him down. It was no where near as obvious as the play in our game.

IMO the interference with the punt reception was the correct call... Marshall did slightly shove the guy, but he took like 3 1/2 steps after the push... he didn't sell it very well either...

But I get your point that the refs might have been doing a "make up" although I doubt it... I suspect it's as simple as none of them saw the illegal block.

I am not saying the refs took the game away from us at all or that we would have even won the game but like you said we don't know what would have happened. And being an official you have to see that, it is his job and if it is so obvious to me on the other side of the field how do you miss it. When it was 17-7 we went into panic mode just like against Arizona and Jake is throwing the ball instead of D-will or J-stew running it. We are a running team and to be effective you have to wear down the Dline and you don't do that throwing the ball. I am just saying it COULD have been a completely different game if the correct call would have been made.:biggrin:

Yeah, and I can't argue with that, it certainly could have been different... could have also been different if Jake wasn't in la-la land and the coaches didn't have their heads in the sand, and if the o-line had blocked and if...

I'd say they have reason to be upset. You're pretty short-sighted if you think that non-call was just 7 points in a 28 point dismantling, but that put us down 17-7, totally took the wind out of our sails, and got us into panic mode that led to the other Delhomme turnovers. If the game was 10-7, I bet we would have run a lot more than encouraging Delhomme to force it.

But that was the one time I was able to get the gaggle of Philly fans at my bar to stfu. When the play was happening I shouted "Block in the Back!" And they were all, "oh yeah, sour grapes." But when the played the replay, they had nothing to say at all. I counted that 30 seconds of silence as a personal victory. (My personal defeat was not popping the jerk in the mouth who went "Aww," when I left the bar)

And the refs missed an absolutely BLATANT penalty that was right in front of them. Please explain that one. I'm sorry but there is no excuse for basically giving a team a touchdown, especially in a close game.
