An observation and a question

So I was on youtube and somehow ended up watching the Lionel Richie video Hello. Don't ask, it was a weird youtube trip through literal music videos and ended up there. Better than where I usually end up.

But anyhoo, at about 3:25 in the video, the blind girl is at home alone and Lionel calls her and says, "Hello, is it me your looking for?" and then hangs up the phone. OK, that is strange in its own right. But that is not what bugged me. My question is, why is a blind girl sitting at home in bed by herself reading a braille book with the lights on?

1. Because with the lights off it makes for a pretty pointless music video, eh?

2. Because she needs the light to find the book to begin with.

3. Those are camera lights and she has no idea she's in a music video.

I concede point 1. You have to have lights for the music video.

If she is blind, what good would the light do to find the book.

The light is clearly coming from a lamp that is turned on. Not camera lights.

You completely missed everything... sarcasm, irony, Airplane-type humor.... you missed it all. Talk about ruining punch lines, I'm sure you're a blast at parties.
