Lovie Smith... OUT?!?!

Lovie is most likely financially set for life and may have decided he had nothing to lose by being an advocate for change.

Providing some unvarnished truth to the Buccaneers executives may have hurt their feelings enough to initiate a parting of the ways.

Lovie would be an instant upgrade for a least a dozen or more teams in the league.

Hopefully he will get another chance if he wants it.

Bucs gonna be  the Bucs.    Lovie finally has a franchise qb and the Bucs only give him 1 year with Jameis.

It's a major shot to the nuts to the Bucs players.    For the first time in many years,  the Bucs players seemingly were buying what their HC was selling.    They were on the Lovie bandwagon and seemed to be slowly moving away from t heir loser mentalities.         Now? Time to start over.

The Bucs are sitting down there,  on their entitled asses,   believing that just because they drafted Jameis,  the Bucs should have been a playoff team.

I hope they hire Chip Kelly and give him GM powers.

What a f'ing dumpster fire of a franchise. Im not saying Lovie was gonna be winning any titles any time soon, but what he absolutely had that team on the rise. That sideshow of an organization deserves all the losing thats headed their way.

And that's why their organization is trash and always will be. Hope Winston turns into a Brees-like player and goes to some AFC team. Absolutely hilarious. I'm not a big fan of Lovie but firing a coach after 2 seasons is ridiculous.

Same deal with the Panthers when ownership wanted Hurney to fire Rivera during the season when they started 1-6. The Bill Cowher talk was everywhere. Thankfully, Hurney believed the young combo of Rivera, Newton, and Kuechly just need to develop and he refused which led to the stunning resignation of a GM mid season. This never happens for obvious reasons, but without a GM in place the Panthers organization was forced to keep Rivera on for the remainder of the season. The Panthers finished strong, and that led to the new GM as well as ownership to hold off replacing Rivera to begin the 2013 season.

Hurney falling on the sword instead of being selfish with an ego (like most GMs) to put himself ahead of the team saved the Panthers from the same roads traveled as the Titans and Bucs.

The Panthers were very close to taking that road in 2012.

Wow. I'm truly shocked. I had thought the Glazers had turned the corner & finally had come to their senses with a steady coach who doesn't go off the rails every week & avoids drama. I was looking forward to some good, clean competition in the division finally. The Bucs have some good players that are good people too.
