to be honest im not a fan of Philly at all, I would like to move on from this experiment in the offseason.

he's played a ton of snaps this season and hasn't done anything with them. funchess has played like 20% of the amount of snaps and has basically the same amount of yards as philly. time to move on

Philly has had his drops but he's playing relatively well recently. I like having him on the roster and if he improves his catching he'll end up being quite the commodity. And he doesn't cost anything.

Obviously Funchess has the physical tools to be a premier WR but it seems to me that they are both getting plenty of snaps now.

At this point in time. Playoff time baby. There is still a spot on this team for Philly. He still has playmaking ability. Add in that Cam seems to trust him. Hey, he may not be the bestest WR, but he still has plays in him we need.

Devin has come on strong. If he continues that trend. AND, if Ginn Jr. is a full go. We are still going to need 1 maybe 2 more WRs to step up. So having Philly on the field is still a necessity.

Now...next year? That is going to be very very interesting.

It is interesting that so many of you say philly should sit or even be gone because of the drops while Funchess should start, even though Funchess has dropped more passes this year than Philly has.  He also has more fumbles, and caused at least one of Cam's 10 interception's this year.  Yes, he has more height, and perhaps more potential, but at this point, he is not clearly better.

We've got one speed receiver and he's in his 30's, Philly is not that fast, Byrd is a practice squad player.

As you just described all three are at different stages of development.

Ginn = Vet

Brown = Young and learning

Byrd = pure potential

Brown has peaked and Byrd is a project, if theirs a Tyler Lockette, Travis Benjamin type in the mid rounds we should give them a look
