Rams, Raiders, Chargers fIle for relocation

I haven't followed the ownership story for this franchise, but it appears that team owner Stan Kroenke is a money grubbing ahole (worth almost 8 billion thanks to Wal-Mart, appropriately enough), and this move for the Rams is about nothing but the cash.

I hope the Chargers (or any other team that wants to be in LA) move there as well and get all the fans, while Kroenke's team plays to an empty stadium during every home game. Also hope St. Louis ends up getting another NFL team at some point.

I'm just really excited to have the Panthers being here next year. OMG

It's actually a pretty sweet deal for you. Being in LA the Rams will obviously play in the later block and the Panthers typically play in the early block. You could go to a few games without missing the Panthers play and watch games between NFC West teams which usually have implications on the Panthers seeding late in the season.

Go to their message boards lol

i honestly feel bad for them. Couldn't imagine what it would feel like.

One Ram poster stated he would no longer be a member of the message board because it would feel like he would be living with his ex wife. Sad stuff.

Go Panthers!

We should send them an open invitation to become Panther fans.

I just trying to imagine being born somewhere near STL around say 1987. STL gets the Rams in 1995 and I am thrilled about this. Become a lifelong fan, go to the very first home game in the new stadium.

then, almost 21 years later they just up and fuging split.

I am old school.  To me the NFL never seemed right with the "St. Louis Rams" in the first place.  It doesn't have that ring to it. And the "Los Angeles  Raiders" was a tough pill to swallow. And whoever would think that the league would break up Oakland and Raiders? It just ain't right. If the Raiders stay in Oakland, and the Bolts stay in San Diego,  along with the Rams being in L.A. all will be right with the world once again.

But if any team moves,  let it be the Chargers.  The people in San Diego have a playground even without the Bolts.

Inglewood is in LA closer to the beach as opposed to the Carson proposal being down south almost close to Orange County.

If you've ever been to LAX then you've been very close to where the stadium will be. As I understand it the stadium will actually be sunk 100 feet into the ground so as not to exceed 185 feet in height. Anyone else see that anywhere?

Dodger Stadium was also built sunken but rather placed in a canyon or Chavez Ravine as it's referred to but not for height restrictions in this case, just ease of construction.

So there are going to be a lot of Rams fans looking for a new team. We should welcome them with open arms. I suggest a sticky thread with a list of the top things new Panther fans need to know.

ie: top players in panther history, our biggest rivals, keep pounding meaning, etc.

Yeah I think the Rams used to have some LB who played for them and the Panthers....but the name escapes me at the moment.

    • I largely detached from the NBA altogether the last few months. I had no idea the Pistons somehow stumbled into the playoffs. Seems like even the poverty franchises are a few tiers above us. Unreal.
    • I think it's a possibility of them moving to #3 with the Giants for Carter because.. The Giants can't take Sanders at 3, it's too high (and too much pressure). Get a 3rd and 4th round and maybe a next year 2nd (not too steep) and they save face and get their man and we get ours. If the price is too much, Morgan won't do it.  It's the same for us. We wouldn't mind moving back a couple of spaces but teams won't give up too much. If our top 3 picks are gone at 8, people might not give us a ton to move, but we may get something and still get a good player at 12-15 or so.  I don't think teams will over pay to move up this year, so the next best thing is get what you can and still get a decent pick.
    • We can't right this ship in a single offseason anyway. Dan Morgan needs to focus on the basics. If he gets hung up on trying to get value out of this pick or that pick and trying to acquire extra assets like Scott Fitterer used to always thinking he was the smartest guy in the building then Dan is in all likelihood in for another rude awakening. And as usual the fanbase will be the ones picking up the pieces.
