Played really well this year, great mentor for the rest of the defensive backs, and showed a lot of heart and toughness playing these last few weeks with a partially torn ACL and knowing it was probable it would eventually tear all the way.  Hope we can win a Super Bowl for you.

Not too worried about it. We are still relatively healthy. Our defensive ends need to STEP UP! It's do or die.

Thanks for your hard work and contribution, Peanut. Glad you're a Panther and no longer a Bear. Geez, did I not like you then.

The DEs, for the most part, have played very well this year.... just not the highest paid starter.

Posted this in the "Today's tweets" thread before news of the ACL tear was confirmed, but it deserves a re-post here.

I fear that Peanut may be lost for the playoffs, but even if he is, he has been invaluable as a Panther this season.  What he's done to instill a constant focus on opportunities to take away the ball.... and his mentoring of our young guys.  It shows.  Not to mention his very solid play on the field.   Love ya Peanut.  Such class.  Thrilled you are a Panther this season.  Keep Pounding.

Peanut has been a huge part of why we're 15-1.  LOVE this guy.  Even if his career as a player might be over, would just love it if he would coach here:

I could see him being DBs coach for us if McD gets hired somewhere and we promote Wilks to coordinator which would be the most likely replacement for McD.

I can't say enough how much this bums me out.  I was a freshman at UL in 2002, and he and Fred Stamps were what made me a die hard Cajun fan.  He was such a BEAST back in college, he almost single handedly won a game against Arkansas with a forced fumble and 2 blocked punts.  I personally stood in the pouring down rain and watched him play in college against UAB, which was the game that really made me a Cajuns fan (34-0, and a drunk student slip and slided down the 50 yard line during one of the torrential downpours).  Seriously, he was my connection between my alma mater and my pro team this year, so it was really depressing to see the injury.  Keep Pounding peanut, hopefully we can get you the ring that you deserve!

Nice story and tribute.  Thanks.  I hope the team can win a ring for him and for themselves!  Keep Pounding!

    • Exactly he has had some bad drops but he made some hard catches it’s almost like he a rookie but i could be mistaken .
    • I'm being careful not to raise my expectations too much. Our offense could be to where we could score closer to 20 points than 10 like last season. Our defense is still really bad, however. I'm ultimately more about our team continuing to fight regardless of the long odds like with today.
    • Not being mentioned much but just having Thielen back was a boost for Bryce, basically his original reliable go-to from his rookie season. As for David Moore being a major factor today, that's an odd one. My guess is a combination of Thielen being back drawing better matchups for everyone else and essentially doing all the stuff Coker would've done but better because he has much more experience in this system. Could've also been by design from Canales because Moore got ten targets today.
