I hear you, and I'm actually make a job/financial decision right now, but that guaranteed money is staggering compared to what OC/DC's make.

Like I said earlier, he has about 1.8 or so left on the books here, he gets a job as a HC, he will have about 16M guaranteed on the books.

That changes lives.

maybe, depends on the person really...

Once you reach a certain level of financial stability......I think you can argue money isn't that life changing.  Lots of coordinators have turned down interviews from shitty franchises b/c big picture they knew that path wasn't a good one to walk down just for a temporary title.

I think SF and Cle will have many people turn down interview requests.

They should hire the huddle. Will can have a live thread where all of us, collectively, can call the plays that best suite this offense. Genius.

so....basically the first play of the game would be a never ending delay of game penalty?  I'm telling you, no one would ever expect that flea flicker to Cotchery again.....it will work this time and none of you co-OCs can convince me otherwise.

Just fired by the Chargers, was our first starting QB, runs the right kind of system.

I could get behind that.

I saw that too but wasn't sure what he ran. If he runs the same system, then yeah I'm down for that. I already said in the other thread I hope there's a way to bring him into our coaching staff in the offseason.

The Chargers have been Coryell for a long time now (which makes sense) but I believe they went E-P when they had Whisenhunt.  With Reich I think they went back to Coryell, but even if they stayed E-P it's a close enough match to work.  Heck, I know a few people think Cam would be better in an E-P.

Also worth noting that as a player, Reich was part of the Bills K-Gun attack. He'd bring that experience with him for coaching Cam in no-huddle, fast paced offensive series as well.

I have  no idea but I've seen several references to us being more EP than Coryell since that's what Shula's background was. He played for Perkins and used it in Tampa.

The 2012 offense looked more like an E-P.

The past two years have looked more Coryell (specifically, lots of long downfield passes).

The offensive approaches have so many similarities though it's pretty easy to hybridize.

The Panthers have actually had all three in their history.  E-P under Capers; West Coast under Seifert; both Coryell (Henning) and E-P (Davidson) under Fox, and now Shula.

I like the Ken Zampese idea.

Might be difficult, though.

The Dolphins and 49ers are both interviewing current Bengal OC Hue Jackson.  If Jackson gets a head coaching job, Zampese might be the Bengals choice to fill his former role.  Or for that matter, Jackson might want him for his OC.

Feel sorry for any team that hires Shula

Why?

you can easily argue we have been the most successful in franchise history with Shula as our OC. Shula is catering to his talent.  Go back and look at his Tampa talent.  Name a coordinator that looks good despite weak talent.

As long as Cam is our QB, I got no issue with Shula.
