Sean Payton is on a trading block...

No joke...

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Saints want a second-round pick in exchange for Sean Payton.

A coaching trade has not happened in the NFL since Jon Gruden was traded from the Raiders to the Bucs after the 2001 season, although the Browns and 49ers came close to a deal for Jim Harbaugh two years ago. A second-round pick would be considerably less than what the Bucs gave away for Gruden, but it would likely be just one of a package of picks the Saints ask for in return for their Super-Bowl-winning coach. The Saints appear open to moving Payton, and there should be plenty of teams interested.

The Colts seem like an option to try for Payton too, but like I said elsewhere, doesn't matter much do they hire if they keep Grigson.

Watching a huge power struggle erupt between Payton and Grigson could be fun though.

If they did; this would be part of the problem with the Colts.

They are too much in love with the big, shiny things (Luck, receivers, RB's and offense), instead of the trenches, and long term, solid planning.

If the real issue's, Pagano doesn't get along with Grigson. Then, what would they expect hiring Sean Peyton?

Either way, they should just give Pagano a chance to build the team.

I think they'd be better off to keep Pagano and dump Grigson, but all indications are that they're going to do just the opposite.

Pagano is supposed to be meeting with Irsay today (assuming he's sobered up from last night).
