Cam is 1970s Steelers... Dont let the flashy passing game fool you. Rivera (who is the textbook definition of oldschool) said that Cam is an oldschool physical football player.

Also, 1970s Steelers won 4 superbowls... I dont see what is wrong with that. I know their defensive coordinator personally. He (Woody Widenhofer) and his wife live here in Destin, FL and I was their favorite waiter at their favorite restaurant a few years back. They used to ask for me by name, and I even tried on all 4 of his superbowl rings at one time. True story.

That's exactly why I said thank god for Cam. We've been trying to emulate that team forever and haven't had a fraction of the success and we finally have the pieces in place to go on a run for the foreseeable future.

Tampa Bay Bucs using the Panthers as a model of success.  Not a bad write up.

Steps to success:

1. Draft a hybrid QB/cyborg who is built like a Greek god with an astonishing ability to read defenses

2. Draft a hybrid MLB/cyborg who has an astonishing ability to read offenses

3. Surround with 8 more Pro Bowlers/All-Pros.

4. Coach these men with a Coach of the Year/former Super Bowl-winning player.

5. Win a lot of games.

Simple, yes?

Dude, you posted over at TATF didn't you?

But out success breeds followers, of course Tampa is gonna try to copy Carolina. Having said that, I think Lovie is a horrible coach. To me, he's like the African American Mike Smith

You know. You could have just said. "To me, he's like another Mike Smith"?

We would have got it. Trust us.

No biggie, no drama. Just saying.

Finally someone wants to be like us. We've been trying to be the 1970's steelers for like 20 years.

Thank god for Cam.

FWIW: I think Detroit-earlier this season (when they thought they still had a chance for the playoffs) said they wanted to be like the Panthers-winning out, then making the dance.

Boy, did that fall on flat ears!

Good luck with that.

Looks like the Pillsbury Doughboy vs. some kind of Greek God. No compairson whatsoever between these two men.

Cam is the man for this Panthers team. I'm glad we stuck with him and Gettleman signed him to the longterm contract.

After 3 division titles in a row I would expect other teams, especially in our division, would want to emulate us or at least figure out how to beat us.

Probably more than half of my fanbase can't shut up about Carolina. On the surface they act like they loathe Carolina but deep inside they want to be just like them

They forget that you don't build a team to be "explosive." You build a strong front 7 and run game and with the right supplemental players i.e. QB, everything else will fall into place
