Any hometown or potential playoff discount we might get would be slight.  I personally think he will demand more than he is actually worth at his age, but if he doesn't, then I wouldn't mind the signing. 

 

On another note, I do wonder if the Giants will re-sign Jason Paul Pierre?   Of if he would be worth us signing with his injury?

I'd be all over Weddle, but on a short deal. I wonder how much he'd command in FA bc he's coming off a $10MM/year in '15.  He'll be 31 when the season starts next year, so maybe a 2-3 year deal.  He and Coleman would secure our secondary for awhile, and allow us to try and groom a younger S (draftee/Tre Boston) in the mean time.  Only thing is, can he play SS, because Coleman looks nasty at FS.  

I'm interested to see the kind of FAs we attract this offseason. I'd say 75% of our team is set in place and/or at the start of their prime at major positions.  Only a few holes to upgrade, so I could see FAs (Weddle, JPP, Ivory, etc.) chasing a ring coming here for a little less.
