Cris Collinsworth Doubts If Cam Newton Should Be MVP

Cam will throw for 3 or 4 TDs Sunday against TB, we'll get the win, and he'll get that MVP award.

While I was hoping for history, the loss yesterday will serve its purpose and refocus the team. Aside from TB, we will be underdogs or be severely doubted from here on out. This team thrives when being doubted or hated. Cam and the offense get back to rolling next week. As for the defense, I don't know, but I feel our offense will have to carry us throughout the postseason

Hope you're right about next week. And I agree, the defense has looked rather pedestrian for the last 6 quarters now. Hope they figure out how to cover the slot, otherwise it's gonna be a short postseason run

Palmer and Newton will be the 2 that people look at.

Several weeks ahead will determine.

But, some of you guys seem more concerned about "what people say", which gets its own thread each week, and after the season accolades than the Super Bowl.  Individual awards frankly, mean very little to me.  Pro Bowls?  Who cares.  I just want to go without a loss starting in 3 weeks

Rushing TDs aren't a QB stat Pox. It takes no skill of throwing or even moving the football to run. There's no quarterback skill involved with rushing,.

Including just those raw numbers and throwing in non-QB stats to pipe up your guy is pretty obtuse Pox.

Scoring a touchdown takes no skill eh? Lmfao, you are beyond salty right now.

You retarded? I said "quarterback skill". Not skill in general. Doesn't take throwing, arm strength, accuracy, timing, or anything related to a quarterback to run the ball.

That's why it's not a QB stat.

It's a quarterback statistic, don't be this pathetic please. You've been here since last night flapping your gums.

Do you not have anything better to do? Sounds like this team is completely inside your head right now. Go to bed.

I see zero argument refuting me.

For me to refute anything, first you actually have to present an argument that makes sense.

You've made dumb ass comments in the past about how Cam is a glorified running back. So color me shocked that you have such an ignorant stance here. It looks like bitterness is all you have left right now, and you're honestly only making yourself look more disgraceful with each post you make.

Lol at quarterbacking stat. A quarterbacks job is to simply lead the team to put points on the board, or simply, put points on the board. Cam has done that 40+ times, whether with his arm or with his legs. His 8 rushing TDs and rushing yards should definitely factor in. If Palmer has any rushing TDs and yards, they should be factored in as well, as it has helped put points on the board; ultimately leading to wins.

Scoring touchdowns is the point of the game. Doesn't matter how you do it.

But anyway, back to the topic at hand.

Collinsworth has always been a guy you can count on to have a shitty, or just plain dumb opinion. Sort of like the uniformed Falcons poster above, only with a tiny bit more intelligence.

I'm just pointing out the ridiculous logic of a person who has a MVP vote. It doesn't mean I'm more concerned with "what people say" and caring more about Cam winning the MVP than the Super Bowl. That's just idiotic.

Some of you weirdos in here don't want Cam to win the MVP award anyway. I would like for him to win both the Super Bowl and MVP.

Newton has a stigma attached to him- zero playoff pedigree

yes he has won a playoff game ....but the perception is that when the stakes are at the highest, Cam Newton as a pro has not delivered...

this is absurd but until he delivers when the lights are the brightest this is the perception and it taints even MVP voting

I think MVP voting is done before any playoff games are played but if your implying that the voters might consider past playoffs into this year's voting then Palmer is out because I believe he hasn't won a playoff game at all (not 100% positive)

This doesn't make any sense.

His only competition for the MVP award now is Carson Palmer...

Carson Palmer has not won a playoff game, ever.

Also, don't listen to Willy Mo, he is a Falcons troll who used to show up regularly and magically disappeared after the last 3 years, only to come back after yesterday's game.
