The Charles Tillman BS call in the 1st cost us the game.

There were calls against us that I didn't like and calls not called against the Falcons I didn't like but thats part of the game. We've been dealing with these all year long and some have gone in our favor and some haven't.  It's part of the game. Let's not be sore losers and let's give credit to why we really lost the game.......

I can't argue that it was definitely a turning point, but our inability to stop the slants, missed tackles, and abandonment of the run game near the red zone was what gave us the loss.

I'd say the fact that we completely went away from the outside runs when Fozzy and CAP were thrashing them is the biggest reason.  Atlanta could not get to the edge and when they did they were over pursuing allowing for cutbacks.  Shula (or Cam if he was checking into those plays) decided to bog the run game down with too many read options and that stalled a couple drives.

Atlanta was ready to quit we just scored had a quick 3 and out then all of the sudden a BS call on Tillman the momentum changed and we never got it back.

plus the oline sucked and horrible play calling had a lot to do with it.

oh well 14-1 better than the rest of the NFL.

I don't know if you've watched football much but refs and poo don't mean a fugin thing if you have the ability to win games by talent and team coordination...

Undefeated record would have been epic, but it seems it was becoming a distraction to the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.

Might turn out to be a timely reality check for the team.

Maybe..   Hopefully..

C'mon I have watched football longer than most of these posters have been alive, I saw ATL ready to quit after that 3 and out but they score and the rest is history.

It was definitely a bad call and definitely gave Atlanta moment onto a scoring drive, but that didn't lose us the game. Things that contributed to us losing the game:

The fact that defense never really showed up and that our offense lost any sort of momentum outside the first drive. Philly Brown's drop on third down. Cam's terrible pass on 4th down. Coleman slipping on the huge Julio catch. A boatload of no calls on early Atlanta drives. Greg Olsen dropping a one hander he usually secures.

The only guys who really showed up today were KK and Shaq.

I swear, you people got so fuging spoiled with this years 14 wins... we lost as a team... plain and simple, you can't pin it on one player or call, we flat out got beat. It sucks that it was the Falcons, but hopefully thats a wake-up call before playoffs or we will be one and done

like i said in the gameday thread that shitty takedown attempt from roddy white was embarrassing from a former state champ wrestler. The missed  penalty that really annoyed me was the block in the back where tillman had foot prints on his back like wiley coyote.

All those holding calls at the end sure we're nice, even the refs were on our side and we still lost

Yeah that call sucked but we had about three and a half quarters to get over it and we failed to do so.  If we are so mentally fragile that a BS call in the first quarter takes us permanently out of the game then none of us should be making any playoff plans beyond the first game.
