Jake nor Foxy are going anywhere......

Recommended Posts

First Post! Woo hoo.

Anyways, I think its funny how everyone thinks Jake will actually be pulled as the starter for this franchise this season. Jake's getting paid 20 million and ol Foxy is not going to bench him for the remainder of the season at any point this season.

Also, Fox isnt going anywhere....it just wont happen. As long as we dont go 0-16, he's staying. The Big Cat loves him. Plain and simple.

And whats up with all this "Matt Moore isnt the answer" bullcrap. Ummmmmm...did anyone really believe that Jake Delhomme was the answer when he won the starting job? No..........I didnt think so.

Jake isn't going anywhere! Coach Fox is gnna live and die by Delhomme. Honestly, I still love both of 'em and long as Delhomme is the most talented QB on our team, we should support him. Not to make any excuses for him but the pass protection was horrible. Hell the run protection was pretty damn bad too. We all kno Jake is a average QB at best, but I still stick by him until Coach Fox smartens up and actually drafts a QB that can actually compete for the job. I'm so tired of these undrafted rookie free agents.

Well if anyone actually watched that game they would have noticed the extreme small amount of time Jake had in the pocket... that is when there was a pocket. I am pretty critical of all the players when they play a bad game but I personally am kind of sick of hearing all the blame being put on Jake. Also he (Jake) needs to stop placing all the blame on himself and throw a little where it belongs. I wouldn't go as far as saying they had problems blocking but I would say the front line did very little blocking at all. I really don't care who the QB is, when they have 0.3 to 0.9 seconds to decide which of the double covered receivers they are going for before 3 linemen flatten them... well they will most likely not look much better. I won't get on the defense too much as they did OK. Offensively we looked horrible. Anyone saying Jake blew the game didn't watch very much of it. Just like the people who go to the games and bail at half-time when we're 3 points down. "Game's over, Jake blew it again." I've heard that said at a game followed by a lot of "fans" bailing on the team that needs them followed by a nice win. Even Detroit and Cleveland fans stayed at games longer.

Oh well, I guess everyone has a finger to point and I'm pointing mine at the offensive line and the "fans".

    • I always get lectured every year when we inevitably win some meaningless late season games to tank our draft position that we're building culture and you always have to try to win no matter what. This is why that's bullshit. Once you're out of contention it's to your competitive advantage to LOSE.
    • You’re tripping I hear what you’re saying but you’re not thinking of the benefits that trade gives us. We can then move around in the second round or late in the first to grab a specific player we covet like M Starks late in the 1st. Let me clarify if we’re at 21 we grab W Nolen or K Grant then trade up late in the 1 or early in the second giving up next years second for M Starks or T Amos there so much that can happen with that additional ammo.  Allowing us still so much leverage in next years draft as well with two first rounders we’d be dam crazy not to take a trade like that it’s not the big haul or heavy amount of picks we’re hoping for but it’s gets us multiple players especially ones we’ve seemed to taken a liking to like Nolen etc along with the safety from SC. or even a Luther B or James P early in the second. This nice influx in talent would help way more than a player like Jalon W. because of his high bust rate or probability  to bust….you know what I mean.  We need players we all know that those extra picks allow us to give up something this year to add key pieces from the 29-40 range that we may really like and have a need for (T Amos) and it not hurt as much because we’re stacked in round one of 26. Which could also be a pick one trade one scenario next year giving us more ammo to manipulate the draft to a winning situation for us long term. Al that to say we desperately need to be actively seeking a trade because we could add real talent in multiple spots this year and next with that current trade your opposing.
    • According to their list, the top guy hasn't put out a mock yet and the 2nd guy has us trading to 4 for Carter.
