Report: Peyton Manning received HGH, other drugs

a.) the official policy is to turn a blind eye, which is problematic as it gives wealthier players a leg up on the competition. So not just HGH, but a trip to like sweden or germany where they get stem cell therapy and a whole host of other things that practice squaders or guys on the fringe can't afford. It's a massive competitive advantage.

b.) you can't really have the NFL giving out this poo to the players because then essentially you're saying they're just bags of meat for our entertainment and whatever the problems they develop later in life, whelp, oh well. Additionally you'd run afoul of USADA which is a federal agency that randomly screens all the olympians.

there's really not a good answer but just pumping them full of stem cells and hgh has some bad optics.

Wealthier players got to that point by being exceptional, it's not going to keep the borderline players down, youre either exceptional or not.  And the Star players now aren't taking it so much to gain an advantage that they didnt already have, but more so to prolong their career, and Peyton is a excellent example of this, Payton has been taking HGH since 2011, lets say he extended his career by 4 years because of it, who here is disappointed that they got to see another 4 years of Manning? I'm not, I always marvel about the fact that we have literally watched arguably 3 of the 5 best QB's of all time over the last 20 years. and have been able to watch their full careers.

What I'm saying is lets be honest about this sport and what it is, there arent any Olympians playing football, anyone that may have had to worry about Olympic standards(cant take anything that may give you a advantage) ended when they left college, this isnt the NBA or Baseball, we are the only country that seriously plays it, its a niche sport, albeit a very popular one, heck I'm a huge fan. Now I'm not saying we should put everyone on a steady diet of Roid and HGH regardless of need. but I am saying if we can keep players healthier and by doing so prolong their careers, and the medical treatments to keep them that way are available why not?

Basically this is really a question of medical advancement versus sport advancement, the treatments are there, but we are still looking at it from a 1980's perspective. It may be time for the league's attitude to change towards advance medical treatments that are available today.

A.)

B.) qatar isn't a fuging theocracy what the hell

Yes and no.  They are not a pure theocracy in the sense that they are ruled by a religious order (as Iran is) But their law is mostly based on Sharia Law, and they believe that Allah is the supreme ruler of their country with the Royal Family as the one designated to implement Allah's law. In this, they are similar to Saudi Arabia although the law is not as restrictive as it is in Saudi.

Please enlighten us.

Enlighten yourself. Your response shows you don't care what I say. I grew up watching the Second Gulf War, Osama Bin Laden, and Saddam Hussein. It seemed like every other week there was some imam or supporter of Islamic terror spreading their hate on Al Jazeera. But don't me stop you. Keep believing that Al Jazeera is benign.

I've basically operated under the impression that steroids/HGH came to football right along with baseball...and are a helluva lot more prevalent.

Anytime a Seahawk (since they were the big offenders a couple years ago) or anyone is popped for "adderall", I chuckle. 32/32 teams would probably have at least one player fail an HGH test right now, and I think everyone knows that. It's a dirty secret, that the NFL just doesn't want going public because of the stigma (some warranted, some not) associated with steroids and sports because of the boom caused by baseball/Lance Armstrong.

I think it's more of a perception issue, we are applying Olympic rules to a completely non-Olympic sport.  And that's why the NFL just pretends to care but in reality doesnt. because it really doesnt matter.

Fug Peyton Manning, this steaming pile of feces has done the least with the most of any player in the history of the NFL.

Unlike Brady who took a pay cut in order to get better talent around him, payton has always been about "Pay Me", and if there is a question about why he didnt win more rings, when compared to Brady I would say that is a huge contributing factor.

by I hold no animosity for him, and honestly have enjoyed watching his career.

Ps. anyone else notice how bored I am? I usually never bother to get actual responses to topics besides a head nod.

A) Yes, it did. Here's one source. http://ajrarchive.org/Article.asp?id=5077 There are dozens more, if you bother to do the leg work. Al Jazeera is, as you would expect of an Islamic state media, extraordinarily anti-Semetic.

B) Are you serious? Do you know what a theocracy is? Or do you not really understand Islam? Let's keep it simple. Do you really think that Qatar has not adopted Sharia law?

They were very much the Fox News of their time. It is good too see they have evolved. It would be nice for FOX to do the same but I would not hold out hope.
