Really nice piece from USA Today on Kawann Short and how he developed character.

He spent those summer days juggling night classes, summer school and online courses just to qualify for college. When his friends were at the movies, he’d haul his 6-3, 270-pound frame to the East  Chicago Public Library , where he wrote papers in his bid to graduate — a goal he was also trying to reach for two other people: his mother,  Yvonne Green , and godmother, Diana Burns.

I love this guy. I was one of the ones that questioned the wisdom of spending our first 2 picks on the same position, but I didn't see how great those 2 would be together, and of course I didn't know how dominant KK would be in such a short time (no pun intended)

I'm sooooo glad things worked out the way it did for our interior D line ☺

Guy is a monster. Huge reason we are undefeated. How quiet has Star's year been? Short is the new anchor of this Dline

I think Star is certainly holding his own. He seems to be playing almost a nose guard position right now. His job isn't to get sacks, but to tie up offensive linemen and bog down plays. Short's emergence may very well be partly because of Star's success. If that's the case, then these guys are going to make a great tandem for years to come.
