Coughlin says he didn't know the flags were on Beckham

No, I'm not kidding.

Coughlin says he wasn't aware of Beckham penalties

Coughlin said he ultimately chose not to pull Beckham because he wanted the wideout out there to help the Giants win the game. He didn’t deviate from that point during a Monday conference call and added that he “wasn’t aware” that Beckham was the player continually drawing flags for his recklessness on the field.

That seems like a stretch since Coughlin also said that there were conversations with officials about the wideout during the game. Furthermore, wide receivers coach Sean Ryan “literally met [Beckham] at the sideline, walked and talked, on my instructions” in a wholly unsuccessful effort to calm Beckham down during the game.

And then there's this...

The subject of further discipline for Beckham also came up and Coughlin said he hoped that both Beckham and Norman would receive the same punishment.

I can see how the head coach has enough going on that he doesn't see the details of a lot of plays from the sidelines, but he's either got his head in the sand and just intentionally ignoring what went on or just doesn't care... I suspect he doesn't care bc that's his #1 receiver and he needs 2 more wins to hope for the playoffs.
