You Think Jared Is Happy With His Decision?

All the way back in week 4 the NFL was shocked when the Panthers traded a late round pick for Hall of Famer Jared Allen. They didn't even pick up the lion's share of his salary. Some were surprised he would even want to come to Carolina. A player with his reputation could have gone anywhere. But we were his first choice. He loved our defense. He loved our Quarterback. Charles Tillman was telling him how great the locker room was. He saw something in Charlotte that others did not.

Some people will say Jared hasn't put up the monster stats. But when I watch the games I see Jared Allen making plays. He's hard nosed in the run game and disruptive in the passing attack. The Giants failed to convert a 3rd and 1 today because Jared Allen got in the face of Eli Manning. That is a monster play, sack or no sack.

And Jared Allen? Does he fit in? Is he happy here? Based off this photo on the plane ride home, I'd say yes.

I don't know much about him other than his stats but I think he was given a pretty great opportunity to finish out his career with a contender. His demeanor (based on my limited take) seems to fit perfectly with the locker room and he is a nice compliment to guys like TD, Olsen & Cotch. I don't think he's looking for his next big payday so he might end up back here on a short term team friendly deal.

No matter what, he gets to play on an undefeated 14-0 NFC powerhouse this year and it's not a bad deal for him.

He is the classic pick-up for DG, you get a guy who doesnt fit into their team or system but has some gas in the tank and is a great veteran presence.  He comes here and is valuable just like Tillman and Harper on the field and in the locker room.  It was a win-win for both sides not just Allen.  As for how should he feel?  It is uncharted territory for most everyone on this team.  Unfinished business I would think for most.  You know he wants a Lombardi having never played in a Superbowl.
