McCown on IR...

According to a source, the Panthers have put backup quarterback Josh McCown and now are looking to sign a quarterback to serve as Jake Delhomme's backup.

This is the part that I don't like. It seems that the coaching staff is content to keep Moore as the #3 and bring in a guy like Feeley or Garcia to be the #2.

I don't understand why they don't have more faith in Matt Moore. McCown never did anything to prove that he was better than Moore. Moore has won as a starter, he knows the playbook and he is a big fan favorite. The team likes him and I think he has the best chance to come in, give the team a spark and give the fanbase some hope. He won't be a star but he looks like he can be a capable game manager and is more athletic in the pocket than Delhomme or McCown. If Delhomme bombs again I'm pulling for Fox to give Moore the nod, not some washed up FA we picked up four days before the game.

I completely agree with you and wish Moore would be given the nod, but crazy stuff has happened. (i.e. Testaverde vs the Cardinals)

If this isn't god's way of telling John Fox to start Matt Moore, I don't know what is. Why bring in short term guys that are mostly career backups when you've got a kid on the roster that (maybe) can play ball. At least give hime the opportunity. Ever heard of Wally Pip, John Fox?

    • I hope Stewart isn't even on our list of potential 1st round picks and is really low on our list of 2nd and 3rd round picks. He just had a terrifying lack of production for a top 100 pick. He's the type of guy you take a late round flyer on to see if you can make a football player out of an athlete but a pretty good P5 college program failed to do it so your odds aren't great.
