So, I'm sitting at work . . .

. . . staring off into the distance beyond my computer screen, looking out at our beautiful stadium, and basking in the glory of this season.  Replaying all the games and big plays in my head, a tear swelled in my right eye, a physical symptom begat by the sheer inertia of emotion generated by this team, this season.  It could be that we are 13-0; it could be that I have moved around for work and finally settled in Charlotte; it could be that #CAMVP has done more for this city than any other sports/entertainment figure to date--whatever the case, this season has been my most memorable.  I'm a young[ish], 28 year old white collar professional, but I was once an 8 year old face-painted kid wearing my South Fork Panthers [pop-warner team in Winston Salem] jersey and stockings to games.  We come from all different walks of life, brought together by a singularity--the Carolina Panthers.  Myself?  I grew up down a dirt road in rural North Carolina, pressed and pressed, and made a life for myself in three different states.  Like the Panthers organization, my life has done a complete 180.  I don't remember everything about the team in the earlier days [youth betrays my memories], but I remember a lot.  And those memories have served me. and have brought me to this point:  I welcome bandwagoners, but to truly appreciate this team--to have an unequivocal understanding--you have to carry the weight of Rae Carruth, Delhomme keeping us out of the playoffs [Packers went instead] & Delhomme taking us through the playoffs, a 1-15 season, and David Hamburger Helper Carr doing somersaults for inconsequential first downs in games that were irrelevant, to name a few.  [Man, that was a long sentence.]  I ramble because this team rumbles, leaving me lost for words while my fingers extemporaneously botch what I'm trying to communicate.  What a time to be a Panthers fan.  And for those that in all literal bearing "grew up" with this team, it is a time that cannot be condensed to one post; it is something to be cataloged and observed as we journey forward.  Man.

[alright, i think tech dept fixed the problem gotta go]
