What Giants Fans Are Saying

I expect the Giants to hit a few big plays with OBJ and score 17-20 points (about par for what they have been doing most of the season).

The problem is that their defense will not be able to slow the offensive roll that the Panthers are on.....we score over 30 again without breaking much of a sweat.  The Giants defense is just that bad.

Giants defense is terrible but there is one thing they do well. They are 2nd or 3rd in the NFL in takeaways(Panthers are 1st). If they manage to get some early turnovers like the Saints did against us then they can turn it into a game.

Let's don't spot them any points. I did NOT enjoy that game. Even though it was nice to keep coming back I think I grew a few more gray hairs.

Giants are tied for 4th with 25 takeaways (we are 1st with 33).

I do agree with you that protecting the ball will be key.

They can be worse, but they are a tad better IMO at throwing it around.  I just think Eli is better than Ryan, this season anyway.  And his weapons are better.

But the Falcons actually have a good run game.....something the Giants do not have.

This Giants team probably has the best chance to knock off Seattle in the playoffs if they are the 4/5 matchup, not that those chances are very good anyway.

A great tune up game for the playoffs and to see what we have in the secondary.

I'm not advocating losing on purpose but if the Panthers had to lose a game, with Atlanta next week and the Cardinals not having the easiest of schedules to finish the season, this wouldn't be that "bad" of a loss in the grand scheme of things.

To be the best you have to beat the best. Imagine the embarrassment our team and fanbase would have if the media starts saying we are trying to duck Seattle. Grow a sack and be confident in your team.

They had a good run game.  Devonta Freeman started of hot but has fizzled out in the last few weeks.  I honestly think that is alot of the reason the falcons have fallen off because of the lack of a productive run game.

If you took the jerseys off of this team the NY media would say they were garbage. The ONLY reason why they are getting any hype is because its the NYG. Jax is a better team, Houston is a better team, Atlanta is a better team, Tampa is a better team etc.

We are going to destroy them. And then the NY media will still be confused because they still only see the laundry and not the players.

If Norman shuts down Odell we probably will shut them out end of story. But I have a feeling OBJ will get his.

My only concern is our front 4 on defense minus Kwann. They need to generate some hurries. Not for this game per se, but for the playoffs. Don't like the idea of having to rely on blitzes against QBs like Rogers, Palmer, Wilson etc...

    • He made some excellent throws but he always has made some excellent throws here and there. I don't know what to think, which is what I was apprehensive about. Is he going to have a decent downfield game? Because okay Legette dropped one, but someone was giving stats prior to the bye or during it where he had two downfield completions and one of them was the jump ball that is just launched and fingers are crossed that our guy comes down with it, and yesterday we saw that again. The Russell Wilson school of downfield passing.  I don't feel like that is sustainable, but at the same time you have to do Something to make the defense understand they have to defend that downfield throws. Like i said, confused.  I guess I'm going to review the game for myself and look closely at his mechanics and stuff because if he actually fixed that stuff it explains the better throws. And that has been my biggest objection, or what I see as the thing that makes or breaks his chances, that unorthodox dropback and tippy toe action and not having his feet set which limits velocity etc etc.
    • The negative Nancy in me (or objective?) says that they had a bye week to prepare for the Chiefs. However, it’s one thing to have a good plan and it’s another to actually execute it. For all the flack he’s received (from me as well), Bryce seemingly has put his head down and worked his tail off and his play is giving me hope. The first 18-game Bryce showed no progression whatsoever. He gets benched, comes back, and has shown steady progress every week he has started. I think I’m starting to see what the Bryce lovers and unconditional defenders were saying all along, and I hope he can show that on a regular basis for the sake of our QB1 position.
    • Yeah, we could still very well end up 4-13 with the 2nd pick.   I think LVR has the inside track for 1, with only a JAX team as a team on docket that could be beatable.
