only mildly surprising. Just trying to add depth, and perhaps upgrade the position at the same time. Baldwin had some upside once upon a time, and flashed on a few plays. Moreover, competition may bring out the best of all concerned.

At the end of the day, it's just a workout which is indicative of Getty staying true to his core creed.

I remember him. He reminded me of Boldin. He had good measurables but never panned out. Would be awesome if he could stick. Matchup nightmare next year with KB, Funchess, Baldwin, and Ginn. Ouch.

I'd say it's keeping a list of guys in case of emergency. It behooves them to keep an active list and that is why they do workouts every week.

I think we'd be working Webb into the WR rotation rather than hoping for a new guy to start contributing, but Gettleman does everything he does because he's pretty much a Jedi at judging possible new-personnel

It became apparent to KC fans early when as a rookie he broke his hand in a locker room fight with Thomas Jones. At face value it looks like just kicking the tires and feeling him out to see if he has his act together.   May want to give him a shot in training camp next season if they think he's turned a corner and grown up enough to try to reach his potential, finally?
