An open letter to Mike Shula

Dear Devin,

It's the basis of our entire offense.  By not running Cam at all it negates the threat thus compacting the defense thus compromising our scheme.  We are scoring 30+ points a game and leading the league in offense....

Let Shula , do Shula.

Please stop calling those design runs for Cam. They almost never work and you're getting him hit for no reason. 3rd and 1 is fine. 4th and 1 is fine. 2nd and 7th is not! Let the MVP throw the damn ball!

The threat of the run is enough for teams to stack the box. You don't actually have to run Cam imo

Dear Mike Shula,

You have shut me the fug up this year and have really grown into a fine OC, despite some dumbass plays you call at the most random time. Nonetheless, you have proven me wrong and have created some damn good gameplans this year and called some GREAT games.

You do know sometimes Cam changes the plan to a designed run to himself right

For the record I think Shula has become a great OC. Just don't want Cam getting hit over 2 yards

In all seriousness, I don't like it either.  But Cam does audible into those plays quite a bit, and I'm not going to question Cam...he knows his body better than we do.

    • Film Room Playlist _ NFL Pro — Mozilla Firefox 2024-11-25 10-20-11.mp4 🎯🎯🎯 There were a couple of "fans" yesterday saying that this wasn't a helmet-to-helmet shot... 👀 Looks like based on where Moore was and where the play ended, he'd have gotten maybe just a yard or two more. Chuba was downed at the KC 16 and Moore was on his way back to the QB, so the offense got what they could for the most part. After reviewing the all-22, Bryce made the right call here. Tremble was the hot and KC sent both LBs. He gets it out with a clear pocket but it's quickly collapsing. If there was a little more time it looked like AT came free at the end but whether or not Bryce would've been upright still is another story. Smart move to get the completion and keep the field goal in play to stay alive. George Karlaftis is about to get himself a big ole hug and Bryce heaves it to where David Moore is going. Trent McDuffie slipped just a step or two before this shot, but we can see the clear DPI here as he's wrapped around David Moore before knocking him over as the ball gets there.
    • I’m taking a TE early day 3 Ian Thomas and Tremble are FA.  We should have no desire to bring them back.   There’s more than enough film of ball bouncing off their hands or facemask.
    • Daniel Jones sometimes would sling it for 300 or 400 yards.  That's my stance.  We know what Bryce is.  If you consistently play any QB at this level, they largely are going to end up w/ some good days/games.  last time Mahomes was at BOA, Teddy Bridgwater threw for 300+ yards and a couple TDs and the Matt Rhule Panthers almost took him down.  We know what Bryce is.  Now we got people predictably falling into a predictable trap.
