Would a win make it better?

I've heard and done a lot of complaining in the last 24 hours or so but one thing that hasn't been brought up much is that this is only 1 out of 16 games. Fox actually made a pretty good point in an interview when he said it doesn't matter if you lose by 3 or 30 its still a loss. Yes I'm pissed about Delhomme's performance and yes I think something is wrong with him but the odds are pretty good that he doesn't throw 4 interceptions again next week.

So here's the real question, if we can make it to the bye at 1-2 would everyone feel better about the season? I sure would because I figured we would have that record anyways. I feel like we are getting too worked up (myself included) over 1 loss. That game is over, lets move on and get ready for a tough matchup at Atlanta and maybe if we can get a win this week or next we will be sitting in a good spot because after the bye we get a stretch where we can easily get back to .500 or better.

But if Jake does this again, Fox has to make a change. I really think we can win games with Moore back there, it may not be pretty but we can win, he has proven that.

I don't want just a win. I want a win in which Jake Delhomme shows that he can lead this team to victory in the face of adversity. I want to see Jake completing passes even with blitzes coming, even if the running game isn't working.

In short, I want Jake Delhomme to show me he should still be a starter in this league. And I want the offensive line to do everything in their power to accomodate that.

Winning solves everything, it will calm Jake down and hopefully pull him out of this funk and more importantly we would be winning games. The same can be said about losing, who cares if you get blown out or lose by a point, its still a L. Thats as simple as sports and competition gets.

No, a win would just prolong this agony for another season. Fox is not a good head coach and Jake is not a good QB. We need this kind of bottoming out for the FO to finally pull the plug and we can move forward. If we stay with this win one, lose one, win one, lose one, we'll continue this march of mediocrity that we've been on for the last 5 years. I don't want my team to have the #14-15 pick every year. I want them to be a consistent contender and play hardnosed, ass kicking football. This weak ass poo has to go!

That's a very simplistic way of looking at it.

We could win 10 games and the division, but if the leader of the team isn't playing well, other teams will capitalize on this in the playoffs. Remember Arizona, or do we need to draw up a banner?

i haven't seen a lot of highlights since I spent most of yesterday on the road to and from the game, but from what I have heard and read we should expect to be 0-3 at the bye. A win in either of the next two weeks would make me feel better, but regardless I'll still be waiting for Jake's next stinker.
