A Couple Ted Ginn Drops In Gifs

We knew what we were getting, we know what we have, and I'll take it every day of the week.  Regardless of the drops, he creates space and forces defenses to respect us.  We were supposed to have KB as our #1, but that's ok.  What Ginn provides cannot be duplicated by many other receivers.  Ginn has no problem getting separation, which means that he will always be capable of forcing the safeties to respect his movements, which opens things up for our other receivers.

Last year in the playoffs, we could not create any separation with our receivers.  I'd rather have a receiver who can get open with iffy hands, than a receiver with great hands who cannot get open, and who isn't a threat to score.

So your suggesting we don't play Ginn in the playoffs then?   Lol at the extra drills with Cam.

No I never even mentioned that. I'm just saying how frustrating his drops are, but I don't think we have any better options of replacing his speed .

By the extra drills, I mean in general, that  I just wish they did more of whatever they need to do to specifically try to fix his drops. I don't care what the method would be just the results haha

I've wondered if Ginn's form and drops have any correlation to him being a "return specialist" because he doesn't muff many punt returns, but you catch those completely different than a typical pass.

Notice he tries to catch every single deep pass with a bread-basket style catch like it's a punt.

Maybe they need to have him start catching his punts in practice while running full speed. Like have him wait until the last possible second then run up to the punt and catch it.

That would give him practice catching the ball on Cam's deep throws in the style he's accustomed to.

It is what it is ( in the words of John Fox ).  I really do not think that Ginn will ever get better in terms of drops.  Ginn excels at many thing's but catching wide open bombs is not one of his strong suit and it end's up making him a slight better than average wide receiver ( 3-4th on most teams ).  Ginn is actually pretty decent when catching in traffic most of the time...weird how wide open passes like these can be so easily dropped.  I will never understand it but then again I am not the one with millions watching me and waiting for me to screw up again.  It's probably a mental thing that he will never get over at this point in his career.
