No one is falsifying anything.  It's a common legal procedure that happens all the time.

stay far away from the chiropractor route. as soon as you finish with that, there will be nothing left of your settlement after paying medical bills.  Be lucky that your family is safe.  Also check to see if you had gap insurance or even total replacement cost coverage.  Gap pays off the difference of whatever you owed.  Total replacement helps you get into another vehicle.  Stop letting wifey drive. their place is in the passenger seat. just saying.
