Crow Tastes Like ****

I have defended Jake's playoff performance as a bad day to have a bad day, and have defended John Fox's coaching style for years. I will now man up and say that neither of these two are getting the job done right now.

I do not act like the sky is falling and the season is over, but clearly Jake has something wrong with him and is not himself, or maybe he is, I don't know. What I do know is that I like what I've seen from Matt Moore, and while he may not be the heir apparent to our QB position, he puts zip on the ball and is accurate. At this point in time, I think if he is put in and can just manage the game, the other players will rally behind both him and Fox, because they'll be happy that coach had the balls to make a neccessary change.

For two years Fox had DeAngelo sitting behind Foster, even though Williams was clearly the better player. I've admired Fox's loyalty to the veterans, but it's gotten to the point of being detrimental to the team. Fox needs to look into the past and learn from it, or he'll be doomed to repeat it. If he didn't pull Peete until the late 3rd quarter in the '03 Jacksonville game, we probably wouldn't have made it to the Superbowl. Don't let Jake's paycheck influence his playing time.

Give Jake until the bye week, but in what is clearly going to be a very tough division, that may already be too late. Is Matt Moore a better QB than Jake Delhomme? Maybe not. But I know one thing is for certain, at this point, he's not worse.

I just want to know why Fox and Co. keep picking bad days to have bad days? For once, why can't we pick a good day to have a bad day, or even a bad day to have a good day? I mean, if we are in fact picking the days and all.

I'm no BJDJS, but I've defended the man for a long time. It was so hard having to concede yesterday that Jake needs to go. Maybe not next game, maybe not this season, but we need a legitimite option behind him. Moore might be that guy, and I think he deserves his chance as much as anyone (he's certainly a better option than McCown).

If we're 0-3 with Delhomme (or because of Delhomme) after the buy, I say it should be Moore's team for the rest of the season.

You hit the nail on the head BB. Like I said, maybe we stick with Jake through the bye, but my fear is that at 0-3 or even 1-2, it may be too late to pick up the season, but still too early to chalk it off as a loss. Fox needs to look at the game film, make the O-line do some extra laps or something, and bench Jake. Smitty's 4+ drops obviously didn't help either, but I can see his frustration mounting BIG TIME.

What are we buy-ing? :D Sorry, just being a smart-ass...

I agree with the OP... I think Jake has some mental hang-up... he looked entirely lost yesterday... he's always been a little wild, overthrowing receivers, etc, but yesterday he just looked like he didn't have a clue. One INT was a ball thrown WAY behind the receiver and the other three were just chunked up in the air for anyone to get...
