Yeah. My intelligence is low because I'm a Saints fan. Yet, you're the one who looks like the moron in this thread.

But, I digress.

Go wallow in the cesspool that is the SaintsReport....your bayou stench is stinking up the place in here.

Considering the fact that the defender came around from near the middle of the end zone just to lead with his helmet against our franchise quarterback kind of makes that a fairly borderline play that looks a bit like head hunting. Who knows his intent though.

Regardless, the Saints lost. No pity here, they damn sure wouldn't be showing any for us if the outcome were different.

Where in the world did he lead with his helmet? And what the Fug does where he came from have to do with anything? He's supposed to let him score? It wasn't a late hit. He stopped him a yard short. After leading with his shoulder. The call wasn't even close.

It was a helmet to helmet hit.....go actually watch the play before sounding like a bigger idiot.

And...I have no issue with the play nor the hit.  It was a hard football play.

I was talking about the trashy Saints fans on Saints Report wishing that Cam had been injured and said that that hit made his day.

Jesus you're dense.

Incidental helmet to helmet contact is not illegal. Never has been. Mauti "led" with his shoulder. The only time helmet to helmet contact is illegal on a runner is when a defender lowers his head and leads with the crown of the helmet. That didn't happen here.

I'm willing to wager that he doesn't even get a fine for this hit. Because it's not even close to being illegal.

Pair that hit with Jordan almost breaking Newton's foot, and I'd say yesterday was a good day.

Easily my most hated (QB) in the NFL. Hopefully Mauti gets a little bonus check in his locker.....just don't say why or talk about it. #bringbackbounties

Reading comprehension is NOT your friend I see.

Again...my point was about the trashy Saints fans on your message board....see examples in the post above this one.

Try and keep up son....I am driving 15 mph in the slow lane for you and you still keep getting left behind.

I think it was an alright hit, no matter what the league does, it's a violent sport and poo like this happens.  THAT SAID, let us all not forget that the same saints fans who applauded this hit, bitched for an entire fuging offseason about the same type of hit on Pierre Thomas...I present to you, The Saint's Hypocritical Conundrum!  So which is it Saints fans?  Is this hit legal, or is it not because I sure as fug remember the warehouses of tampons needed over that hissy fit.

I hardley ever post there. You get disgusting comments like that all the time. Those are probably the same people who cheered last year when he went down briefly. I don't like to see anyone injured.

However, seeing a football player that you don't like get hit hard is usually something you enjoy. Should I pull up the game thread from Thanksgiving when Romo went down? There's shitty people in every fan base sir.

Also, my last post I replied before you edited your post to add in the rest. That's why the quote is so short. Apologies.

Apology accepted....and one offered by me in return.

Come on now, Cam even said he deserved that hit. You can even see Cam look back at Vacarro and thought he had a free run into the endzone, until he saw Mauti at the last moment. I HATE to see Cam hit like that, but it was his own fault. Nonetheless, it seemed to wake Cam up even more.

And leave it to the Saints to celebrate more about almost injuring a player instead of being mad they lost.

The Saints fan should be salty.  Look at how the media hyped them before the season.  Numerous places predicted them to win the "mediocre" NFC south.  And let's be honest not only did they get worse this year, it's not looking any better in the future, Brrees isn't getting younger.

That goodwill I offered you earlier in the week about being the only tolerable Saints fan just went out the window.

That's shoulder bud. His right shoulder. Only reason it looks like anything other than is because Cam saw him at the last minute and lowered his head and shoulder to take the hit.

Again, I'm willing to wager he doesn't see a fine for the hit. I thought it was a clean hit. Cam never even hinted that it was anything other than a clean hit, saying he deserved it. If they fine him, I'll admit I was wrong and never post here again.

    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
