1 Notable Observation of Cam last night

While at best, I was a heap of mush during most of the 4th Qtr last night with all the back and forth action, I couldn't help but notice 1 Very Important characteristic about our Franchise QB.

As the camera panned to the bench every single time the Saints scored, it showed a Cam Newton almost smiling after every Saints score! What's the big deal you ask? Well in the past you would have seen a sulking or angry Cam Newton expression. Not this time, probably not anymore ever!

He was so confident in his facial expressions, that it was almost as if  he knew that he was going to drive our Offense back down the field and score again. This didn't just happen once, there were 4 lead changes in the 4th Qtr alone.

Cam KNEW that they would answer before he even stepped in the field. It was as if he was relishing the moments that were to come, before they even happened!

A confident Cam Newton is likely the most dangerous weapon this league has ever seen!

His development I feel was made complete last night. He now has that killer instinct, and employs it seemingly effortlessly.

Please tell me that I'm not the only one that noticed this last night. While most of our hearts were in our throats, Cam was as solid as they come, and for that reason he took that last step that we see in all great QBs

I agree with what you're saying. However this already happened in Seattle.

Mine was when Ealy fuged up twice on the offside penalties and the first one to come over to him on the sidelines was Cam to get him calmed down.  Who would've thought Cam would be calming someone down?

I think Cam has really learned how to play in the moment.  Just focus on what he can control and each play. 

If a receiver drop a pass, dang it.  Next play.

If he throws an INT, dang it.  Next play.

He's learned that it's a 60 minute game.  He's learned how to control his emotions and himself throughout the game.  That comes with experience and I really think it's a reflection of our head coach.  That bring your lunch pail, focus on the little things approach that Ron has shown since day one has really been instilled into Cam.

I just wish he wasn't so confident when he tried to stroll in for that TD run.  He's lucky he wasn't evaluated right then and there for a concussion, missing several plays.  It all worked out, but hopefully lesson learned.

It wasn't the same last night imo. He hadn't done it at all in a big game until SEA. Last night, like I said, it's as if he knew. He'd been there before a came out on top. Last night the way he looked each time was like "Ok, now it's my turn, and there's nothing u can do about it"

Cam has truly elevated his game. He would still be a great QB if he wasn't a fantastic athlete and runner. Haters continue to hate. Keep Pounding Cam.

I think he blended in with the background. The endzone walls had all black padding and the saints were wearing all black.

I mean he's really a different player this year.  He's calm and poised at all times.

Cam said in his presser after that the Saint played seemed like he came out of nowhere.  You can see it on the replay.  Cam is smiling and looking at the other defender thinking he has a walk in TD.  Then he gets blasted.

Said he deserved the hit but it won't happen again.  From now on, when he has a chance to score he will not take his foot off the gas.

Yeah I too noticed him calming down Ealy on the sideline. Made me smile.

Newton is the kind of athlete that anyone should be able to root for. Sure he is confident, but he lays it all on the line out there.

Cam was letting the big fella know that he could not make those mistakes.....but that we needed him to go out and rip Brees's head off.
