How can you say that? Gronk is going to beat every te record out there, he's a beast.

He misses too much time. He gets beat the fug up on his knees because nobody can tackle him straight up. Gronk is the greatest te of all time. I would never deny that. But staying on the field and producing means a ton. Especially for this team when Greg is our best receiver and a top leader.

Greg values the catch above all else.  He understands that there are no yards after the catch unless there is a catch.  It's why he almost never  drops a pass.  If he has to go to the ground to secure the catch then that's what he'll do.

Greg Olsen a pansy?  Good lord.

I remember my coaches screaming something like "If you just catch the damn ball and fall down it's a 9 yard gain!!! Catch the ball first, worry about everything else second!!!" A lack of YAC can be accounted for in an offensive scheme, but dropped passes kill offenses.

Greg ain't a YAC guy. He is what he is and I wouldn't even trade him for gronk at this point. Gronk gets injured too often and Olsen is always strong and steady and plays almost every snap.

I just checked at football outsiders.  Olsen has taken 98.7% of the o s snaps this year.  Olsen =  beast.

Very easily, Gronk is a generational talent no doubt, but as has been mentioned he stays injured because the rules dictate you cant hit Gronk high (why anyone would anyway is up for debate).

The knee hits, the crushing blows time after time its brutal.

Olsen plays smart, catch and get down unless hes in stride.  Cam usually throws Olsen to the sidelines where he just runs out of bounds.  Or Olsen sits in the zone and gets tackled.  Pretty simple stuff.

This game cemented even more the kind of competitor Greg Olsen is.

He was very mad with himself after the fumble, but did anyone notice how upset he was with himself on that routine 2nd down catch up the middle that was just 1 yard short? With Cam throwing to him, I think Greg is going to go down as one of the all time greats at his position. He's just got it all upstairs where it really counts.

That 4th down snare should go down in Panthers lore

Play of the season IMO!

As for YAC, If the pass hits Olsen in stride, he can run with the best of them. He's being contested (often double teamed) on most of the throws. And, Its hard not to fall down when you're coming back to the ball to bail out your QB as he did on that 4th and 4 and does often. Let there be no more derogatory talk about Olsen.

Just a pansy with a measly 917 yards with 4 games still to go.

People also forgetting he's a damn tight end that does his fair share of blocking too.
