Washington Post: "Cam Newton is the best player in the NFL"

I loved where FOX picked up Cam going up and down the line and getting to each of his teammates after something went bad on the field (I forget which, there were a few early on), and Cam -- without his customary towel over his head -- was all "we got this, you got this, let's do this".

Rookie Cam wouldn't have done that.

You know who did?
Team Leader Cam. Team Captain Cam. MVP Cam.

I'm pretty sure that was right before the last touchdown that NO score.  Cam gave everyone dap and said let's go.  Just as impressive was when Ealy had his two mishaps in a row, and was obviously upset, and Cam pulled him aside and had a chat with him.

Not just a leader of the offense, he's leading defensive players as well... albeit our defense was on the field so one of our defensive leaders couldn't do it, but Cam stepped up in that situation as well.

I noticed that on the sidelines as well.  He let Ealy know that they needed him and to keep his head in the game.  Looked like he let him know that he needed to clean that up....but that he needed to put it behind him and to go out and make plays.

That is a leader.

Cam has said many times that he wanted to play this game like no one ever had before.  In his 5th year he's making this declaration true, Cam has ascended to virgin ground for QB's, there has never been a QB like him, EVER.  Not when you add his size and speed to the equation.  He's becoming unstoppable, I am in awe of Cameron Jerrell Newton.

Love the article but the 2nd part of this statement blew my mind. Can't remember any article from anyone praising Cam's accuracy, even though there have been games when he's been dead on. I hope Kilgore's opinion becomes the majority view.

"Whether his feet are set or he’s backpedaling, the velocity and accuracy of his passes is unmatched in the NFL. "

Cam's always been a very accurate QB. He had/has to be most of his career with the Panthers, throwing into such tight windows with receivers who don't make up for your mistakes.

However, Cam has been streaky, particularly being a big armed QB.

This is what people confuse with lack of accuracy (or just plain hating). Cause, Cam will have his stretches where he misses people. That's just the way it is. However, he'll have his stretches where he doesn't miss as well.

He's streaky, just like an Eli Manning, Brett Farve, or Andrew Luck. But you don't hear people criticize their accuracy (though they all have a penchant for INT's).

The key is in minimizing his streaky stretches.

Yeah. There were times yesterday I said to myself "can we really win this game", after all the lead changes during the third and 4th qtr. LOL

Nonetheless, I just "sat back and enjoyed the show", and Cam delivered!

Haha there was no sitting for me yesterday. It was a great game, but that meant that the only moments I was sitting down were those in which I was on the edge of my seat haha

Yeah I remember when they showed him encouraging Kony Ealy after Ealy's two offsides penalties in a row that gave the Saints a first down. My first thought was, "damn when was the last time a QB took it upon himself to lead the defense too."

This is Cam's team, offense, defense, and special teams. It will be a travesty if he isn't awarded the MVP at this point. Not even the immortal Brady goes to encourage his defensive players like a brother.

Same publication that had the Panthers ranked like 28 before the season

Crows are becoming endangered with all the crow-eating the media has had to do this year. They may well be extinct by the time we win the superbowl.

I question my self every sunday. Can we win this? All games are battles but there has been times where you want to think "nope this is hard to do" & they blow me away every time. Incredible. Cam is once in a decade athlete.

Even with all the love I still can't stand sports media. Its week to week and once we lose they will be back to dogging Cam and Ron. Every game this season has been special. Honestly a lot of that is a deserved thanks to our O Line Coach and the boys up there battling for cam and stew
