Panthers considering a free agent quarterback

I agree we run a vertical attack Offense and Garciea could not even win the Job in Oak. Gus Frerotte could be a stop gap option. Still I think Coaching could solve Delhommes problem. He is in a slump and needs to be coached out of it.

Garcia asked to be released from Oakland....Russell is the anointed first round QB and Oakland has so much money invested in him, there is no way he would be the back up. Jeff Fisher is one of the few coaches with enough balls to make that move. Garcia can scramble and still make plays. He kicked our ass the first game against Tampa last year. He's is no long term solution but at least Jake would know there is a possible replacement right behind him. Hopefully that would motivate his ass enough to find that competitive spark I think he is missing.

Our Front Office does not know what the hell its doing man. Please, give the team to someone who does. Sell it to someone who proactively wants to win, and doesnt wait for things to fall apart before they decide "hey maybe we need to go another direction." I swear we're the laughing stock of the league right now. This is the same poo half this board was saying 4-5 months ago (that we need a QB) and we were called idiots for. We passed up opportunities to bring in guys who could've made an impact and sold jerseys and boosted fan morale. Instead, we overpaid for a washed up QB, overpaid for an O Lineman who isnt the difference between winning and losing, and overpaid a D Lineman who really didnt want to be here. There's no one available right now who could help us. I think this franchise needs to stick with Jake for the next 3 years since they thumped their noses at their die hard fans who told them last offseason the "great hope" experiment needs to end.

How about signing some free agent O-Line talent first?

I don't care if you have a mix of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, and Johnny Unitas taking the snaps, this team isn't going to go far until the O-Line shows up and starts blocking.

That was a pitiful performance by the oline -- but it was funny how Moore seemed to get the better protection yesterday.

You can talk about his preseason performance all you want, but when it mattered last season in the regular season, he was pretty damn good most of the time.

That would be more accurate if written about Matt Moore, who I'd much rather have than Tyler Thigpen (unless we're completely changing offensive systems in the next week).

Jackson, Anderson, Feeley, Thigpen, Garcia...I wouldn't take any of the bunch.

The bottom line is that we are not getting a new, starter quality QB this season from any outside source. There just isn't anyone realistically available that's worth giving up anything to get.

Thats just it, we dont' know if he's the solution because we don't give him the chance to BE the solution. You can never be the solution if you don't get to play. Garcia isn't bringing anything extra to this team, no upside at all. We might as well keep delhomme out there if we are starting Garcia. Give Moore a chance to be the solution. Everyone here is like "Matt hasn't shown me anything" but the fact is he is 2-1 as a starter and thats the only thing we have to base off of him.

Let him play and if he fails, he fails, and it's not different than having played Delhomme or Garcia anyway.

I dont necessarily agree if Moore plays and fails, its no different than Delhomme or Garcia. Now with Delhome you might be right, as a fan I am not ready to bench Delhomme for Moore - YET, because I dont think Moore is the answer. If Delhomme sucks ass again, then you pull his ass right away for Moore.

For me though - I think Garcia is a proven commodity. He is a much better option than Moore because I dont want to see an experiment to see if he is our future and base that on because he went 2-1 at the tail end of a season 2 years ago. I will be pissed as a fan if/when this team goes that route because that means the season has tanked and why not. No matter what next offseason Fox is still here or gone but either way new QB's need to be brought in.

Bottom line for me is I am pissed again at Fox and Hurney because they have failed for years now to have a viable option and QB of the future on this roster for years now.

But this is exactly what your getting with any QB you draft! Garcia might play well for a few games, but just like last year he will lose the flame by the end and you'll get the same thing that happened to the bucs. You can draft any QB in college and your never guaranteed even a moderately decent starter. You can say "Matt Moore" isn't the answer, but you have no idea who's the answer till the get out on the field and play.

Garcia is 38, on the end of his career, can't get the job at Oakland... HE is not the answer. Matt Moore atleast provides a glimmer of hope to the future, if we play him that is.

I really really really wish that they would make a play for Tavaris Jackson. Minny wants to get rid of him, and hes riding the pine as the 3rd QB there. Favre never misses starts, so he probably will never see the field there. I bet he could be had for a 5th round draft pick. They need to fuging make it happen!!!!!!!

Garcia is 38, .

I think he is 39 almost 40. I don't think it would be a good pick up. I would like to see Moore get the nod. It's time for a changing of the guard. Come on Foxy, Stop being so loyal. You have young talent, use it. You used J.Stew last year and see what happened!!

T. Jackson couldn't even beat out Gus Ferotte, give me a break he's gonna be just another let down QB like Troy Smith and Jamarcus Russel.
