Infiniti QX80

So my wife informed me she wants a 3rd kid by the time she's 30... (soo within 2 years).  We have a 2015 MDX but looks like we will need a bigger car (MDX won't fit 3 car seats).  My wife really likes Infiniti QX80... Does anyone know if this car is a good buy?

Nonsense - your MDX will fit 3 car seats just fine. Look into Diono Radian or Radian RXT seats, which can be either rear- or forward-facing; we have a 4, 3, and 1 year old and they fit comfortably in the back of my Subaru Legacy sedan using a couple of these seats and an infant carrier, and we even fit 3 across in our old Ford Focus using these.

Additionally, as someone with three kids it's a pain in the ass to constantly have to access a third row (not to mention the loss of cargo space). If you're serious about getting something else, get a van and be done with it. There isn't a third-row vehicle out there that can match the convenience, configuration flexibility, and overall utility of a van.

For your MDX:

I believe based on having an MDX and then wanting a QX60, perhaps your wife just wants a luxury SUV. The only other cars that I believe can rival the QX60 based on price and luxury is the Lexus LX. The Audi Q7 is German and the Mazda CX-9 and the completely redesigned Honda Pilot are spacious but not as luxurious.

We have a tundra and a lexus rx. The Lexus is paid off and my wife's. I'd be hard pressed getting rid of free and something that can go another 4 years.

My cousin has an Audi Q7 that had a 3rd row and I liked it but I would pry like to drive the Lexus GX too. If I was looking to gain space.

    • King Tet talking to Jaycee already. McMillan, shortly after he was drafted, was asked which NFL cornerback he wants to "Moss" most. His answer was an intriguing one. • It is probably harder to justify taking plays off in a draft where you are drafted six picks after a freak of nature--How Hunter did it is beyond me--and in Colorado of all places!  WRs run sprint after sprint.  Arizona was playing from behind a lot and that means pass every play.  I get it.
    • I'll give you the Etienne pick to make up for Brooks, but I think you're looking at the T-Mac/XL picks wrong. Taking T-Mac wasn't "covering" the mistake of the other picks, it was "fixing" the XL pick. We took XL there because we expected him to be our new #1, but it just seems clear after his rookie year that he's never going to be THAT type of guy, even if he improves significantly.  But he does seem like he has that high end #2 potential, and that's where the T-Mac pick makes it "fixing" the pick and not "covering" for a bad one. The T-Mac pick pushes all the other WR's down a peg in the pecking order, and in turn, that makes them all that much better as they'll now be going up against a DB one more peg down on their own pecking order. XL and Coker don't have have a 1/2 pairing potential, but they both could be at the very upper end of the 2's and 3's out there, it totally changes the equation for who they are for us.
