Dying Light

I'm surprised there wasn't a thread somewhere about this game, particularly since it's about a year old.  Just wanted to recommend this game to others, especially if you like zombie games.  At some point one zombie game is the same as the next, but this one has a little something different.  The parkour aspect to the game is what sets it apart from other zombie games.  In the beginning you can't take on multiple zombies and the parkour style of movement really gives you a chance to survive early since most zombies can't climb.  Aside from that it has the usual formula when it comes to most zombie games, crafting your own weapons, upgrading those weapons, repairing those weapons, etc.  You can also scavenge for plants to give you certain boosts such as night vision, endurance, and so on.

The story is your typical zombie story but that's not necessarily a bad thing.  There are day and night cycles.  You gain double xp at night but it's much tougher since there are stronger zombies that appear at night.  There is an RPG aspect to it as you can level your character in 3 ways: agility, survival, and power.  Each branch has it's own special abilities and moves and each is leveled according to how much you use them.  So if you do a lot of running and agility special moves you get agility points, if you do power moves you get power points, if you do quests and help random survivors you get survival points.  There is a co-op mode but I haven't done any of that, but I hear it's pretty good and makes the game even better.

    • Losing Derrick Brown last year was devasting to the defense, however, I also think losing Luvu was too.  I like the focus on the D-line during free agency and the draft, however, I would like to see the Panthers pick up a few more LB to battle it out during camp.  I still don't think this is a position of strength.
    • NFL analysts confirm Panthers GM Dan Morgan committed draft larceny Dan Morgan had a decent collection of picks during the 2025 NFL Draft. That doesn’t always guarantee success, but the Carolina Panthers general manager emerged from his second selection process with significant credit. Morgan played his draft board masterfully. He struck with conviction when opportunities arose, and brought high-character individuals into the organization who should fit seamlessly into head coach Dave Canales’ culture shift. Each draft pick and undrafted free agent must prove themselves in an NFL setting, but fans were thrilled with the haul. (As seen on Bluesky, but those embeds aren't working here yet 🙂   _ https://bsky.app/profile/rawnfl.bsky.social/post/3lnxnosfzju2d source: https://www.rawchili.com/nfl/10067/
