I hope we have a large enough lead by half-time that we can sit a large number of starters......

this. really hoping that CAP is active for this game and gets significant carries. also would like to see more daryl williams at RT, giving Kalil some more rest because he doesn't look 100% healthy.

It is a division game.  I wouldn't be expecting a blowout going into it.  I highly doubt resting starters with 4 more games left will be on Rivera's mind.

i agree that divisional games are usually close, but the Saints have looked dead in the water for a couple weeks now. i dont expect Rivera to rest starters considering that he didn't do so with a huge lead against the Redskins until the 4th quarter and didnt rest anyone in the Cowboys game with a 19 pt lead and Romo out of the game.

Actually, I think we did actually pull some starters in the end of the 4th Q against the cowboys?  Greg Olsen was out for some snaps and Simonson played.  Also Marlowe got some playing time.  Luke & TD both came out. I think Klein & Shaq replaced them.

The team is so confident that they signed Finnegan, though I do concede that it could be precautionary since we're nearing the home stretch of the season.

And are likely to see passing teams with 4wr sets in the playoffs/SB....Arizona, cinn, Denver, ne.

we will need to go 4 CB deep without having to play a safety on a slot wr.

Make no mistake, Peyton will scheme to take advantage of any weakness in the secondary in this game.  It's really the only weakness right now with Tillman sidelined.

people forget Sean Peyton is coaching for his next coaching gig right now

I like this point.  Things happen for a reason.  Before, the Panthers probably figured that we could kick Bene outside and move Jones to the nickel.  Thank you Redskins for pointing out the problem with that logic.  Having 4 starting-caliber CBs to man 3 positions is a good problem to have.

Finn may be learning the system for the next month with a few series to get in game shape.

Want good news?  Where can we not handle an injury?   CB was the only position (besides long snapper, k, and P)

CB goes down---Finnegan

S goes down--Boston, Marlowe

LB goes down--Klein/Thompson

DT goes down--Love, Edwards

DE goes down--Ealy, Addison

On offense, we are a bit more vulmerable:

OT: Williams

OG: Scott, maybe

C: Velasco, maybe or Remmers (Williams to T)

TE Dickson, SImonson (We can't afford a loss to Olsen)

WR---After Funchess and Ginn and Brown---Cotchery, Bersin,

RB--Whittaker, Tolbert

QB---Anderson, Webb

I tell you, we are build to handle most injuries.  I knock on wood and pray we don;'t need to, but remember when Gettlemen said, "You build a franchise from the bottom up?"

Yeah this is what I have been thinking.  Especially Arizona, because if Fitz/Floyd/Brown are all healthy (granted hasn't happened this year) it's going to be rough.  Arizona lost Chris Johnson though so that'll hurt.  I think we're just gearing up for playoffs.

If Tillman can play, does anyone know if he can play nickel?  He and Finnigan could share that role while Tillman eases back in and Cortland as well.

Tillman has never played nickel and I wouldn't anticipate him beginning to do so considering his age/injury history and with his extensive outside experience.

I should have clarified. I meant on the offensive side. Stewart, Tolbert, Cam, and the OL were still in the game with 4 minutes to play and a 19 point lead.
