I wouldn't be so sure about NO just rolling over and dying like some of you are suggesting.  This will probably be "Their" Sup*er* Bo*wl this year.

way better than colin , colin is great at ST  but is terrible in the slot finnigan is a successful vet that will help us in the slot . if colin started vs the aints drew brees is the type of guy to target who ever hes covering every single play

Newton wrote an article on ESPN.com. This is correct. He said cortlands snaps would be based on what he's picked up throughout the week. He's not getting thrown into the fire.

Our corners have been Josh, Bene, Peanut, and Teddy Williams all season. Teddy is strictly a special teamer and dime corner. With Peanut hurt, we needed another corner. Colin is a safety. Asking him to play slot corner against small, fast WRs is trying to pour a gallon of milk into a quart jar. It don't work and it's messy.

Colin's a good matchup vs. big, slow WR and TEs.

I'm sure he kept himself in great shape. Doubt we would have signed him otherwise.

We did bring in a number of CBs for tryouts.  If he wasn't in shape he likely wouldn't be in this position.  

 

Anyone know the contract details?

Guys lets stop acting like Colin Jones is trash. The guy comes in and makes plays. He just limits what the Panthers can do schematically. We can win with Colin Jones, I'm sure of it. But Finnegan might be able to give us a little more in a traditional nickel corner.

He will probably get 10ish situational reps at nickel.  That's it.  They have to work him slowly into football shape and their scheme.  

10 snaps could be pushing it.

Jones is horrific in coverage, he's allowed 12 catches on 12 targets the past 2 games.  He's a terrible cover guy, but I really like him in certain situations.  He can blow up pretty much anything coming out of the backfield, but at the same time, so can Kuechly, Davis, Thompson, and Klein.  Plus, all 4 of those guys can cover better than Jones.  

Well, I started out trying to pump up his value in certain situations, but I've now convinced myself he's no better than anyone else, in those same situations...
