Let's not forget this same Saints team played us down to the wire earlier this year.  Beating Drew Brees in the dome isn't a cake walk.

true but I would argue we are three times the team today than we were back in week 3. that's one thing that amazes me this year, we seem to be better every game. surely we will take a step back at some point but hopefully it won't cost us anything.

I just don't think the team is very talented. Not sure you can turn that around. They had a pretty good draft and we've got a poo ton of young guys playing a lot of minutes.

But let's be real, a team with over $30 million in salaries that aren't on the team is going to have a talent problem.

We all know where you are at....we have suffered through 1-15 and 2-14 seasons fairly recently.  Not to mention that cap hell left by Hurney.

Kuechly didn't play in that game. Kony was still getting up to speed after a lazy offseason and Jared Allen wasn't on the roster.

Payton's ability to exploit Luke's absence that day has me concerned about our nickel spot which explains why we are getting Jones out of there this week.

Honestly I expect this one to be closer than most people think.  Not because I think the Saints are a particularly good team - far from it.  But because the Saints KNOW the Panthers well.  Division games are always the toughest, and the Saints almost beat the Panthers with their backup QB playing.  Hell the Saints might want to trot him out next week there because Brees looked terrible today.  Commercial might have had some unintended real life wisdom. Saints will be pumped up for this one, but I just don't think they have the talent or the coaching to win.

Panthers 30

Saints 21

i agree. think something is still wrong with brees injury-wise, dude just doesnt look healthy anymore. and mccown absolutely tore up this secondary last time.

    • That’s the Sean Payton offense
    • I hear you brother. But I am now past the point of wanting to see that this season. We're dead in the water. We're not winning anything for the culture going forward from here on out in the remaining games. We have so many needs. I'm not saying tank or any nonsense like that. I'm just saying it doesn't matter one iota anymore what he looks like when there's nothing left to play for anyways. Let the young guys get their reps these last few weeks and head into the offseason with a lengthy list of issues to address. Beginning with the QB room.
    • We have to go best available, regardless of position.  Too many holes to fill but I'm guessing at 4 it's Travis Hunter (who interestingly would help both WR and CB if he can play both).  Position 5 or below it'll be a Defensive Lineman or Edge.
