This team just gets worse every week. it's over. Done. Way past time to move on.

Loomis must go. Payton must go. Drew doesn't have to go but his contract MUST GO. He is not worth 20 million dollars any longer. Even if he is individually the BEST player in the history of the NFL, it has been proven over and over and over the point of ridiculousness that he is NOT CAPABLE OF CARRYING THIS TEAM with these players and these coaches. It's NOT HAPPENING.

So, he needs to take a 50% pay cut or he needs to go, too. This team is already in a salary cap hellhole that will take a couple years for any new GM and HC to climb out of. If Drew wants to be a part of that, he needs to take a reasonable salary that will allow this team to do just that, CLIMB OUT OF THE HOLE that he helped put the team in. He is not blameless. No one is.

We need a new GM to hire a new HC, renegotiate Drew to 10 million per year and go out and draft for 3 years to build this team. NO MORE MORTGAGING THE FUTURE with overpaying draft picks to move up to get the NEXT MISSING PIECE TO THE PUZZLE.

Face it ... there is no one missing piece. This team has more freaking holes than a cheese grater. It's done. It's time to rebuild BIGTIME. Clean house and do it now. I can't take the weekly agony. The window for Drew and this coach and this GM is OVER. Everybody face it and let's move on.

Please notice that I didn't say fired, because any individual that has brought so much to an organization must be respected. But even much deserved respect has its limitations. There is no sane person with emotions that wants to see posts like this, but please understand major changes must be made!! This team has quit, PERIOD!! The offensive line can't block, the receivers don't block on the edges for screens, missed tackles, wrong routes being run, and a team with no IDENTITY!! I just watched the life get sucked out of one of the most focused, driven people I have ever seen in my life (Drew Brees). The sad fact is, we probably could have converted on that 4th down but we just went away from the play call for selfish reasons!!! We must all admit that this is not the Coach Payton that we have grown to know and love, he has morphed into a comfy coach whose job is safe regardless of the outcome. I am not sure of what direction we should go after he is gone, but our teams arrows must be pointed upward!!!!!

I think payton is fired this year.  I assume atlanta would not give up on dan quinn after 1 year but with this kind of collapse, who knows.

On the plus, Bucs at least look like a team turning things around. They'll be interesting to watch between the last 5 games and next season.

Atlanta shouldn't blow it up just yet. Give the new regime at least 2 seasons before moving on. If the Rivers situation taught me anything, it's that patience is a virtue.

The Saints......I am vastly entertained by this Saints team. That's not a good thing for them. Even if they hit the reset button now, they're 3 years from threatening to be relevant again. Good times.

While fun to see the Falcons crumble...I'm weirdly still holding out hope that they make the playoffs over a team like Seattle. The chance to play a 5/6 seed Seahawks team who's been there before, or a Matt Ryan led 5/6 seeded Falcons team known for choking.

Three division titles in a row with no letdown coming in the near future.  Remember when people were calling for Ron's head a couple years ago?  LOL.  While nobody can see the future, I'm glad Ron was given time.  If some of our team's "fans" had their way this team would have been gutted a couple years ago.  Thank God we have some people with sense and patience running this team.

Yea but it's not as if those "people running this team" have had a standard of excellence or history of winning or anything...no back to back winning seasons still(which will be taken care of for sure) and an overall losing W/L record...anyone doubting had more than good enough reason to doubt.

The hiring of Gettleman is the greatest hire in the history of our team and will go down as such easily. That said it was the right call to have patience and let things develop with Rivera but it was also the wrong call to keep Hurney for as long as we did after he kept trading and squandering picks....we also lame ducked(wasted) the last season with John Fox.

So yea thank god this franchise finally brought in someone with some football sense....but I forgive people for doubting since the Panthers had precious little before that.

The fact that the rest of the NFCS is crumbling around us (with the exception of the Bucs)(but they are like our little brother) is icing on the cake.

Hurney did some good things, but yeah he clearly fuged things up especially when he signed both Williams and Stewart to big deals.  We needed one of them but not both.  But then again I can see the other side of the argument why he did that as well.  We've had some terrible luck with injuries to the running back position at key times and he wanted some insurance.  

And yes I agree with you that Gettleman is probably the single greatest hire this franchise has had.  That's why I was glad he decided to keep Rivera because Rivera was the one having to deal with Hurney's mistakes on the field.

But it goes beyond just Hurney with our fans.  We have fans that have wanted Shula fired despite his progress.  We have fans that had already declared Funchess a bust even though he's a raw player with a high ceiling.  There are plenty of other examples but the main point is that fans need to step back sometimes and look at the big picture and stop spazzing out so much over stupid poo.
